So who would've thought that the middle of Baja California in Mexico, a delicious ramen spot would have existed. Umai brings a great diversity of asian cuisine to mexicali. Umai aims to be a Japanese and Mexican fusion, and successfully able to do so. The restaurant gets pretty busy, so plan accordingly but it's definitely worth it.
We able the Tonkotsu Ramen, Dumplings, Shrimp Brochetas, Chicken Pad Thai, and Shrimp Fried Rice. Like I mentioned earlier, their aim is for Japanese food mixed w/ mexican influences. Therefore, the ramen was probably the highlight of our table. The dumplings and brochetas was good as well, but the fried rice & pad thai were just put together. They weren't bad, but it wasn't anything special.
