If you find yourself in Mexicali and love sushi with a creative twist, Pez Gallo Sushi & Ceviche is a must-visit. My husband and I went twice in two days—yes, it was that good—and we even brought friends along for a third visit in less than five days. Safe to say, we were hooked.

The sushi here is next-level. Every dish is elegant, huge, and packed with unexpected but perfectly balanced flavors. Out of the several rolls we tried, “The Boss’s Wife” was the biggest hit—an absolute standout. We ended up taking a plate to go to eat in our hotel room later that night! And let’s talk about the ceviche: incredibly fresh, beautifully plated, and full of bright, delicate flavors that made every bite a dream.

Beyond the food, the place itself is spotlessly clean, and the staff is warm and welcoming. The first night our server didn’t speak English but we used Google Translate on our phones, so no issues with communicating. The second night we had an English speaking server.
