This is my third attempt at dining here, and it has been disappointing each time. The first visit was surprising, as the menu was innovative, but we experienced a long wait for our breakfast. On our second visit for lunch, the wait was excessive; after 1.5 hours, we decided to ask the waiter to be removed from the waiting list and leave for another restaurant, despite the fact that it wasn't too crowded.
During my third visit, the situation was even worse. There were only two diners when my family and a group of eight arrived. We waited 58 minutes just to receive our first plate, and mine was the last to arrive after an hour and six minutes. The menu isn’t very extensive, so I expected some dishes to be prepared in advance. However, my first two choices were unavailable, and my third option—a ceviche with tuna, cucumbers, and avocado—should not have taken so long.
Overall, we left feeling dissatisfied due to the poor service and insufficient food preparation. Some of the chicken options were dry and lacked freshness. Instead of enjoying a great experience, we felt disappointed.
There needs to be a significant improvement in the kitchen operations, management, and coordination. While one person was cooking, two others were just waiting around. A few minutes before bringing the plates, they offered us some bread, which did little to alleviate the long wait.
It may be more effective to hire another kitchen assistant rather than adding more waitstaff and having small snacks available could help reduce the perception of long waiting times.
I ordered a dish with ribeye, but the waiter informed me that they no longer had it on the menu, which is puzzling because a raw steak can be safely stored in the fridge for up to three days before needing to be frozen.
Additionally, three diners who arrived ten minutes after us received their food, finished their meals, and left approximately 20 minutes before we received our first plate.
Overall, I do not recommend this place, especially if you...

Tips for Traveling to Mexico from San Diego
☑️ Go with someone who knows what they are doing
☑️ Get global entry card ($100) to skip the crazy long lines
☑️ Use paid parking lot or park and take trolley to border crossing
☑️ walk across the border preferably without a bag (use your pockets) so you don’t have to wait in the bag “bolsa” line
☑️ walk across and do not be alarmed by the military men wearing cool white uniforms *Do not take pictures
☑️ get your game face on because as soon as you go through those swinging gates to Tiajuana you are going to get harassed by taxis (in car and on foot)
☑️ keep walking across the street I usually hail an Uber by the “Farmacia” with the tables outside you can sit at
☑️ Continue to ignore taxis who will harass you
☑️ Verify it’s your Uber, get in and go to restaurant
☑️ Research places to go. I recommend Telefonico Gastro Bar for a fun atmosphere and New Medical City Plaza “The Park” if you are a foodie
☑️ If you want chill and prefer to enjoy the sites go during the week before it gets dark. If you like higher energy & people watching go during the weekend.
☑️ Keep in mind the busier the time the longer the wait to get back in particularly by car. It’s usually quicker to walk across
☑️ Catch your Uber to Tortas Johnny 22010 get out and walk back across the border. Go in the Sentri line with global entry card don’t wait in the long one.
One star off because everything I saw online about this restaurant makes it seem like it’s brunch on the water. However it is near the water but not on it. In the water that it is near is not really that nice and you kind of have to go behind a weird gate to get there.
Be safe and don’t go poking around places. Have an intentional plan and stick to it. Have fun too 🤪

Read moreOriginally I was walking to another different restaurant called La Casa De Don Juan around the corner. Two nice guys mentioned the name and opened the door for us not noticing we weren’t in the right place. We sat down and noticed the food items were double the price of any other restaurant in Playas de Tijuana for breakfast. We eat out all the time so decided to give it a go, we ordered 2 breakfasts burgers, we justified spending $15 dollars in Mexican soil to support our people and also because the menu said it came with eggs ( not only one egg ). When we got our burgers I noticed that both burguera only had 1 egg each, I expressed to the kitchen about reading on the menu that it said eggs. They literally just said no it comes with one and ignored my comment collectively. Although the burgers were small portion and over priced it was more their demeanor after my frustration in complaining. I hardly ever complain about anything. $40 dollars for breakfast is not a lot when you get what you deserve, not coming back...
