Sushi Bar & Delivery — Restaurant in Baja California

I used to come here often a couple of years ago and always had a good experience, but I hadn’t visited in about a year or two. Unfortunately, this recent visit was disappointing.

We were greeted shortly after entering and seated quickly, which was a good start. There were about three other tables already seated, all waiting on their food. I only saw one waiter working the entire floor, and while he was doing his best, the place clearly seemed understaffed.

Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, and I personally didn’t mind the wait since I wasn’t too hungry. However, the quality of the food was underwhelming. My husband’s teriyaki bowl had a large portion of rice but barely any beef, and what little there was turned out to be quite chewy. My California roll was mostly rice with very little filling, and the gyoza were overly salty (though my husband did enjoy them). I ordered the mineral lemonade, which was extremely bitter, but I didn’t mind since I wasn’t in the mood for something sweet.

Overall, it seems like the restaurant might be under new management, as the experience wasn’t what it used to be. Other guests also appeared frustrated with the long wait times. At first my rating was 3/5stars. MY first plate from our order was brought, then a lady ordered togo and she got her plate before our next plate; I got upset. It's not a process to roll it up! The main point: let a table of customers eat their food together, bring the whole order at one time so everyone can eat together. Isn't that the point of eating out? The bar boys were social. But, a lil distracted, i have no other theory as to why my food was brought seperated. Also, it seems to be popular in the area to add lime to the soysauce. I have never had this anywhere else.
