Great ambiance and atmosphere but very slow service and we were the only ones in there. We had octopus (great), Caesar salad and guacamole ( needed more salt and line and perhaps a bit more spice). The bone marrow was by far the best. We ordered one more just because it was so tasty. Our main course was by strip steak. It was my wife’s birthday and she was in the mood for steak, so we came to La Recova.

We had two cocktails, a bottle of wine, shared a Caprese salad, I had ribeye, and she had a skirt steak. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the flavors were excellent, and the service was attentive and professional. The total came to about $3200 pesos including tip. While this was one of the most expensive meals we’ve had living in Mexico, we thought it was reasonable considering the food, atmosphere, and service.

We wanted to have an amazing steak and this really is the place to be in Campeche. Really wonderful place and our main waiter was really friendly and helpful from start to finish. The other waiter not so much, as she kept on pushing the more expensive wines. Can’t blame her for trying, especially with tourists, but I could have done without her visual disgust when we weren’t accepting her offer. People aren’t blind.
