This was our second stay. The first, on the 3rd floor was excellent. We were in room 2 on the second floor this time. The room itself was great (large room and bathroom, 20' ceilings, exposed beams, king bed,mini-fridge, cold a/c). First night was great, a little noisy (facing the street) but we were getting up by then. It was the second night about 9:30. The room next door must have been unoccupied the first night, male voices started shouting at each other, moving furniture, singing. We complained at the desk but they had quieted down by the time the front desk checked. It started back up almost immediately. It was like they were in or room. Not sure what the wall between the rooms is made of but it cannot be concrete blocks like normal. Sound reverberates in the large rooms! After 11:00pm, we went back downstairs to the desk and they did quieten down. It was not until the next morning, when they had checked out and the door to their room was left open, that we noticed how thin the adjoining wall was. They were probably not being excessively loud. It was probably amplified by the rooms being so large, tile floors and a paper-thin wall. We felt terrible. We can only imagine how crazy it could have been if both rooms had been watching tv, they were both mounted on the shared wall. We're not sure if we could recommend because we are not sure if other rooms have the same situation. It only happened that one night, but if it had been every night, we would have had to check-out or ask for...
Read moreWe would give hotel Lopez 7 out of 10. Everything is okay while nothing is outstanding. This goes for the room, the bathroom, the pool. The breakfast I liked. The lady is friendly. We got eggs, toast, fruite, orange juice and coffee or tea.|Campeche disappointed me. We ate at three restaurants: one was very expensive, the second one had only beer and no other alcoholic drinks and the last one (BODEGA 59 Social Kitchen & Bar) was quite good with american food and a glass of wine.|The historic center has been beautifully renovated. The houses look great and are beautifully lit at night.|We visited Centro Cultural Casa No. 6. That is interesting because you can see how the rich merchants used to live.|There are not many sights in Campeche. And what there is, is not much. For example, the city walls are really very small city walls. And the Malecon, the boulevard along the sea, is a road with a lot of traffic with a bare sidewalk along it.|I can't make more of it. Playa Bonita has terrible reviews; we decided against...
Read moreOverall the hotel is just your average hotel and isn't bad. The air-conditioning works, the WiFi is fast, the room is clean, the beds are comfortable and nothing was old or musty.
There is onsite parking through a carriage entrance next to the reception. The car park is small so if you are bringing a large car or long SUV it may be a struggle. It would be overly optimistic to think a Tahoe or Land Rover could park there.
The breakfast however isn't great and the rooms are a little small with a lack of any views.
One would also expect when booking the best room option that the room would come with a balcony or at least a view of the city as is pictured on booking.com This was disappointing and as a Level 3 Genius I would have expected better considering the hotel was not full at all . The view was literally into another person's room...
Our toilet flush mechanism was also on the way out meaning I had to remove the top of the toilet mechanism and fiddle with it to get it to work...
