EGO Restaurante — Restaurant in Cancún

Great place for breakfast or brunch, a bit on the pricier side but you have to expect that if you’re in the Huayacan area. We ordered 4 main items, 1-Chilaquiles with red chili sauce with brisket, son said the sauce needed some flavor so gave it 3-5, 2-Avocado toast with Brisket, other son gave it a 4-5, I tryed a his brisket and was amazing however he didn’t like the bread much, later he said might have been better if it was toasted. 3-wife had some eggs on a skillet looking plate I don’t recall the name but she said the same thing about the red chili sauce/ no flavor. 4-My Enfrijoladas were amazing I could almost say they’ve been the best I’ve ever tried. Basically they are Enchiladas filled with Panela cheese and smothered with a thin layer of beans. 5-5 Almost forgot, we also ordered French toast, came with ice cream and a good portion of berries. I visited Cancun and me and my friend was looking for a brunch spot and we found this place I wanted to say first we got seated and we were the only black people in the restaurant it took them 30 minutes to even wait on us mind you the place wasn’t even busy and tables that came after us with big parties already started getting waited on. We didn’t even get a hi or at least what would you like to drink finally someone came over and got our drink order and food order we order basic things like eggs and pancakes. That took another 40 minutes to come out while other tables that came in after us are almost done eating their food. We spoke to the receptionist and no one ever apologized about the situation. I just feel like they should treat all the customers the same and I am a very patient person but how we got discriminated was beyond hurtful I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re black they don’t...

El servicio fue muy bueno.

La burrata y el fettucini tenían buen sabor.

El jugo de carne, desde mi percepción, carecía del espesor característico de este platillo. Aunque puede ser que así lo preparen en este lugar, y eso está bien.

La milanesa napolitana estaba rica y la porción de carne era generosa, con abundante queso por encima, lo cual también se agradece. Sin embargo, la presentación del platillo podría mejorar notablemente. Se sirve en un plato blanco y sencillo que resulta pequeño para el tamaño de la preparación, acompañado únicamente de papas. Pensé que quizá se trataba de un detalle puntual por cuestiones de operación, pero observé que en otra mesa la sirvieron de la misma forma, con el plato blanco. El lugar cuenta con una vajilla bonita, por lo que considero que esta podría ser una buena oportunidad de mejora para resaltar aún más el platillo.

La primera vez que nos trajeron la pizza, llegó quemada de la base. Actualmente, muchos lugares ofrecen pizza al horno de piedra o leña, y esto no suele ser un problema, pero en este caso la base estaba visiblemente negra y el sabor era muy amargo, como cuando se prueba algo claramente quemado. Informamos al mesero, quien con mucha amabilidad se disculpó y nos trajo otra. Sin embargo, aunque la segunda pizza no se veía quemada por debajo, el sabor amargo, como de algo que pasó mucho tiempo cerca de las brasas, seguía siendo demasiado predominante. Esto me hace pensar que tal vez se debió a residuos quemados en el horno o en la pala que se usó para colocarla.
