La Palapita Tulum — Restaurant in Cancún

Unsanitary. I only rate them with 1 star because the food and the service from our waiter was ok but I’ll definitely never come back after what my friends and I saw last night; I ordered 1 liter of draft beer with “ojo rojo” and it tasted like water and tomato juice. After I complained, our waiter told me he could add more beer to my jar, I agreed and after that we all saw the waiter bring the jar to the bartender and have a discussion with him, we don’t know why it was such a big deal to fix a simple drink but what shocked us the most was seeing the bartender trying to pour beer from SOMEONE ELSE’S glass into my jar. He didn’t do it after he realized we were all watching them. At the end I got my jar back with more beer in it (I was disgusted so I didn’t even drink it) and they didn’t charge me the food I was eating but just having seeing that whole thing made me doubt about all the hygiene standards from this restaurant and of course the values from the employees who will not care about the...

This place seems like a good time if you're getting drunk and partying hard. We went because we thought it looked cute and it had good reviews, but we should have left when we saw how loud and over-crowded it was. Still decent food and good service, but we just didn't have a good time. It probably depends on the day and time, but when we were there, there was insanely loud music and lots of drunk people yelling and screaming. It's entirely outdoors so no AC. Complimentary chips and sauces were yummy. If you sit near the street, homeless people might bother you and staff won't really do anything about it. The food was delicious, and the manager was great but beware of the waitress. I ordered a ribeye steak and got served flank steak, when I said something the waitress tried to argue with me. When I got the manager, he immediately agreed and sent it back. He said the cook got confused and it was flank steak.

I went to pay and she asked how much I wanted to tip, I said I didn’t and she told me it was mandatory 10% because of tax. I said the tax was included and she began arguing I had to pay it.
