On arrival I was greeted with the information that there was only one standard room left, though I had booked a double superior, months in advance. As a matter of fact, this hotel HAS NO superior rooms. It may be suitable for backpackers, but nobody else. There was practically no water at the faucet, in the shower it was just dripping and lukewarm. Contrary to the booking information, the hotel offers NO closets in ANY room. My “wardrobe” consisted in a concrete surface and it had ONE single wire hanger, the type you get for free at dry cleaning places, and even this one was old and distorted. The Internet was constantly being cut off, with extended periods of ZERO signal, especially during the morning hours. The advertised “free parking” does not exist, you need to find a parking space somewhere in the pedestrian zone around the hotel. The receptionist pretended not to know his manager’s name ore phone number. After I had finally located the manager by myself, we had a long argument, they changed my room and fixed at least the water problem to a certain extent. Breakfast service was on the opposite side of the street at a taco bar called “Altamar”. Their waiter was totally unwilling to do his job, food quality was lousy. It took them up to 40 minutes to serve a simple omelet! No value for the money. I strongly discourage everybody from...
Read moreSo the best thing I and my friends like was the cleanness of the hotel and the rooms. The hotel was very clean and neat and everyday maid comes to clean our rooms. It was near to lot of places and restaurants so you can have good lunch and dinner.
Disliked · I didn’t like the staff of the hotel they were very dead and were not helpful except one guy with the tattoos. He was quiet good and helped a lot. But over all the hotel staffs were not good. No one new English and it was very hard to explain then in Spanish. There was no laundry in the hotel for laundry you have to give your clothes to reception and they will charge too much for laundry. For breakfast you have go to other restaurant which is few minutes walking but the food was not good it was just okay. There was once issue with the water as there was no water in the hotel and the staff didn’t bother to bring one. The pool was small but it was clean and nice. The staff were careless and not enthusiastic. WiFi was also not really good if was very slow. I recommend if anyone is coming for long stay then is the not the good hotel I lived for 15 days and was not quiet happy. If you are coming for small stay then...
Read moreA small, safe hotel in a tourist-friendly part of town. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are spotless and air conditioned. A busy market 100 metres down the street comes alive at night with bars, restaurants and street food.
The Red Bus (R1) to the beaches stops outside the hotel. It leaves every couple of minutes (costs $1 each way - 20 min to beach). There are also lots of tours that leave outside the hotel door.
It can get noisy some nights due to the local bars that occasionally have bands.
There is no tea or coffee in the rooms, just a small selection of soft drinks and potato chips in the lobby. Most of the bedrooms don't get natural light or views, so enquire in advance if you need a view. The Internet is very patchy, almost unusable in some rooms.
One nice touch is the masseur who will do room visits or chair massages in the lobby, he's excellent. There's also a roof garden to wash your clothes and air dry them if you've been on the road a long time.
This is perfect for anyone on a budget who wants to feel safe, secure and avoid the expensive Cancun beach strip. Don't be put off by low prices, it's an excellent little spot for...
