Restaurante Isla Contoy — Restaurant in Cancún

This was the only place open for a sit down meal when we got to Mercado 24 around 6pm. It's mostly seafood, but did have a few chicken and beef options. I got the fried chicken, which is not what you would expect fried chicken to be if you're from the US. US fried chicken is breaded chicken here, or empanizado. So it came as a bone in chicken leg and thigh that was probably cooked on a skillet. It was a little dry, but they provide so many sauces that makes up for it. The fries were absolutely delicious, and it also comes with rice and a salad mix on the side. They also brought out some appetizers that were pretty good. Chips with this sauce thing that I have no idea what it was and these small spicy things too

Service is quite good, music 🎶 is great. Prices are reasonable, especially if you are looking for a restaurant downtown. Portions are a bit small but sufficient. Healthy preparation and always has fruit drinks to offer, not just beers...
