We went there at night and during the day.
The first time, the venue was not full but quite busy with people getting in and out. Our waiter Erick was very friendly, did a fast and efficient job. He definitely knows how to be a good waiter. I was not satisfied with all the food I ate, the taco fior di jamaica had some dusty taste in the mouth, the other vegetarian tacos were good though. The price was correct for Cancun though you would not pay that price in authentic Mexican taquerias.
The second day, we went for lunch and we were the only table in the restaurant. Our waiter, Hugo, was "friendly" but did not seem sincere in his friendliness. The food was okay that day too, nothing crazy though. I also didn't like the fact that he asked for a good review on Tripadvisor and Facebook, putting down the restaurant business card on our table, almost insisting about it. We were not done with our food yet. And we did not ask for the bill. Furthermore, I don't appreciate this kind of behaviour towards customers. Having worked myself in the hospitality industry for many years, that is something I'd dare to do. Customers are going to a venue to eat good food and have basic friendly service. They shouldn't feel force to give reviews whilst eating. And if the friendliness looks sincere, it is even better.
If my review were only based on this experience, I'd give 1 star for sure. But the previous night and the great customer service from Erick awards more stars to...
Read moreMy husband and I just moved into the neighborhood, we were hoping to find a place we could go to weekly and have drinks and food. I wanted to order chilequiles with pulled chicken, so we asked them specifically if they had pulled chicken not giant chunks of grilled chicken. And they confirmed that yes they in fact had pulled chicken. And when the food came out it was big chunks of grilled chicken. When I told them I didn't want that, and if that's all they have then just give me eggs instead of chicken they said that's fine. But when the check came, they charged me for both. When I confronted them about the fact that it was their mistake and not mine, the manager refused to take it off the bill and charged us for both chilequiles. I am a server at restaurants, I know mistakes are made. But if the restaurant makes a mistake then that's their fault, not the customer's. So I would warn people to eat here, if they make a mistake, you'll get charged even if it's not your fault. Additionally the service was terrible, as a fellow server I know what good service looks like and they didn't even check on us one time while we were there to ask if everything was okay or if the food was good. Such a shame since the place is so...
Read moreThe service is really friendly here and the place has a nice atmosphere, I really liked it. (They don't have a complete English menu though) After reading all the reviews I feel like there is a problem with me, but I think that almost everything we ordered tasted pretty bland. I'm disappointed in Mexican food in Cancun over all so far to be honest (I've been here for 2 weeks), most of the places we've tried could've used way more spices, and so could this one. We ordered chicken tacos, chorizo tacos, a tortas, a gabachita, the chicharon de queso, guac and refried beans. I ordered the tacos without onions to be fair but the chicken one was bland, the chorizo tasted good but the flavors were really toned down. The gabachita tasted like a bland cheese, the chicharon was fine but there was no avocado on it like on the pictures. The guac was very simple, and it felt like there were no spices in the refried beans at all, just plain beans. The tortas was the only item that was worth the price for us. And it messed up my stomach too, it was the first time in these 2 weeks that my stomach didn't like what I ate (my husband was fine though, so it must be a...
