Chivo's — Restaurant in Chiapas

Tourist trap that coasts on its proximity to hotels and doesn’t care about quality or customer experience. We ordered guacamole, taquitos and the vegetarian sopes. The guacamole took a full 30 minutes to come out, after the totopes were gone, and when we asked for more were informed that there were no more totopes. The guacamole was made with unripe avocados, no hint of lime, and there were bits of peel in it. My taquitos came out about 40 min after ordering, and we waited for my partner’s plate, until finally I started eating because my dish was getting cold. I finished my food entirely before his plate arrived. The vegetarian sopes were inedible - unseasoned and the veg tasted unclean. When the proclaimed manager came to take our plates and asked why we had not eaten the sopes, we were honest. We also told her about the lack of chips with our guacamole (so 2/3 of it was uneaten) and the lack of cohesive timing on our dishes. Positive: food was good, prices are reasonable

Negative: basically a scam if you are hoping to pay with a credit/debit card. Before entering we asked if we could pay with card and we were assured that it was possible. Once we got the bill and attempted to pay the machine was not working and couldn’t connect. Workers did not seem to care and said that this happens often. The dinner started with a sirop of sangria with ice instead of a real sangria, 🍷 then followed by a "painful" request from us to the waitress to ask the kitchen about a specific allergen ingredient in one of the dishes (we had to insist). 💁🏽‍♀️15 min later we had our answer and could order the main dishes. 💫 To be honest the main dishes were correct.
