Thank-you Jangala for the best cacao we drank in Mexico. We drink cacao a lot & felt the pure vibration of the heartfelt connection this chocolate has to the jungles of Chiapas & the heart of the Earth. Our favourite chocolate is the Hibiscus & Ginger…or Lavender…..or the Mujeres de Cacao. You have to try to find your favourite 😉🙂. We really recommend to take the Jungle trip to see the plantations, meet the farmers & understand more deeply how the chocolate is made in an sustainable & gentle way that honours the Earth & the farmers who tend the cacao trees. You will also visit some of the most beautiful & pristine jungle & waterfalls in Chiapas. We saw so many beautiful birds, including Toucans & learned a lot about Mayan culture & history. We can’t wait to visit again. The jangala team are so helpful, friendly & fun…they love chocolate & the Earth & you can feel that....
Read moreI did the cacao workshop at Jangala. I discovered the tasting of the other brands' chocolate was all out of date. One as old as 2020. They get you to taste it in comparison to their chocolate so it tastes better. Beyond that I reported it as I personally think its terrible to serve out-of-date chocolate to someone. It can make you very sick. In Australia they would shut down a place for that. I informed the owner and asked for a refund but he defended that it was ok and declined, he did offer me to come in and try all the chocolates for free but I did not want that. I strongly feel out of alignment with this energy and would not recommend them at all. If they had of apologized and made it right I would of felt better but this ethos feels very different to how I want to be treated...
Read moreYou shouldn't miss this wonderful place! I took a tasting class with Julio and can really recommend it. He is very skilled and can tell you so much about the world of cacao! I was very impressed by the way he works with the farmers and cacao producers from villages and develops delicious chocolate creations out of it! The chocolateria is the best place in San Cristobal to taste great chocolate and other cacao products which are produced under sustainable, ethical conditions! Julio and his team are lovely and very passionate about communicating their ideas and the role of cacao for Mexico. Thank you very much, I am still thinking a lot about this...
