Excellent service. Plain, simple food that is cheap. Not special, not great-- just basic. The comida corrida Is now 70 pesos, but it fills you up. The agua del día with the CC is big (I hate it when places are cheap and give a tiny glass. Aguas de frutas are cheap/easy to make). Choice of 4-5 soups and the platos fuertes cover everything-- pork, fish, beef vegetarian, and chicken in your choice of style usually with a side of frijoles refritos and a salad. They bring a dish of totopos (tortilla chips) and 3 salsas (SC is infamous for providing only one salsa...so points for the variety). Very clean bathrooms and they clean the table (not just a swipe with a questionable cloth). Sometimes roaming musicians drop by to play. Nice pleasant atmosphere and just a 1/2 block off the Zócalo. There are two of them just a few doors apart. The menu is full range with antojitos and breakfast. Not a place I go to a lot but sometimes when I'm doing errands in El centro, I just want a quick basic comida corrida. If you're looking for something special or really yummy--...

The service quality was lacking. It seemed like the staff were still waking up after just opening. Although the kitchen prepared my food quickly (I could hear the bell and see the plate), the waiter took an extra 1-2 minutes to bring it, opting to chat with a coworker instead (almost got it by myself). The same delay occurred when I wanted to pay, with unnecessary pauses before I...
Read moreThis was the very first place I visited in my trip to San Cristobal. I was excited about the coffee from Chiapas, but when I received my cup of coffee it was not hot, just warm.
The waiters are strange, they waste time in nonsense, they are distracted. My food took a long time to arrive and it was also cold. Portions were just too small. I finished my plate in 2 minutes and was still hungry. But I didn’t order anything else because it would take them forever. I asked for the check and another 10 minutes to get it.
I don’t know why but service in Sancris is...
