Interesting, touristic restaurant that specializes in Chiapaneco cuisine. Staff friendly and they observe Covid protocols. We ordered the 4 course special which is an nice intro to the food from various parts of Chiapas. They had marimba entertainment while we were there. There's a dance floor for shows or in case the patrons decide to leave some of the calories. Four 4 course meals came to 1265MXN (approx. $62 USD Oct 2021) with soft drinks. Reasonable for a tourist. Nice experience.

Be careful of this place. Unprofessional and dishonest! The price on the menu did not match the price on my bill. I ordered the Cochito Chiapenco. The menu said 170 pesos. When the bill came, it was raised to 180 pesos. The menu was still on my table, The waiter didn't care and just said the menu was wrong. ????? What??? How can the menu be WRONG?!?!?!? I'm a foreigner, so what am I going to do? The food isn't even that great--the pork was dry and tasteless. Overrated and dishonest!

Nothing like the original location. My girlfriend and I were so excited about this location close to where we were staying, but it was filled with disappointment. All the beef we ordered were horrible cuts. The meat was not fresh, and they seemed more concerned with the show than the quality of food being served. The manager offered no solutions to fix this, it’s embarrassing that this shares the same name as the original location. A tourist trap & best to avoid.

Someone recommend this place while in San Cristobal so I gave it a try and I guess it just wasn’t what I expected. They do serve traditional food from the state of Chiapas and that’s what makes this place famous. They took a long time to take our drink order and they were not busy. The Only thing I can recommend is their guacamole and their signature drink called “pumpo”. Prices are reasonable.

For a newly opened restaurant in San Cristobal De las Casas, it is really a cultural delight with the regional clothing, dances and marimba. It is a little more expensive than average, but at the right time it is dinner and a show. For those who want to know more about the indigenous culture, this is a great way to experience local food and culture.
