Shangri La — Restaurant in Chihuahua

Although the atmosphere and service was nice, the food was not as I expected it to be. I'm not an expert in chinese food, but the dishes were simple, unauthentic (over-cooked spaghetti was used instead of actual lo mein noodles) and lacked flavor. The portions sizes were small and overpriced. I have always wanted to come to this restaurant ever since I could remember. As a kid, my parents would drive past this restaurant at least twice a week as my brothers and I would gaze from the back window of the family wagon at the chinese dragon decor that would adorn this bustling restaurant. The food was fantastic. It almost always is. We ordered to go. The reason I give the service 3 stars is because we arrived and they had the food ready in packages, however when we arrived there was no napkins, no condiments, no plates, and no plastic ware. We had asked for all of this and we tipped them well. 15% for a to go order is more than the standard. They need to work on their to go business. When going into Juarez a go to place to eat is Shangri La! It is always an exceptional experience! This is not your typical Chinese place. The ambiance is truly inviting, with a beautiful decor that sets a relaxing and elegant tone. Very upscale.
