Wanda's Burger & Ribs — Restaurant in Compostela

Holy frijole! What a find. It's tough to get a "decent" burger in Mexico. When we are in a city we usually stop at, I dunno, Carl's Jr? Just to say we've had a burger. But a decent burger is a rare thing, and a GREAT burger is unheard of.

Except for Wanda's. Man, they have got it going on in the burger department. Excellent selection: at least a couple dozen variations of beef burger, plus chicken burgers and vegan options.

But that's not all! When I told my neighbor we were going to pop our Wanda's cherry last night he said, "Oh you gotta try their stuffed baked potatoes!" and he was right. They're huge, over-stuffed, and really high quality.

Everything, in fact, was high quality. Mexican beef can be, um... "different"? to the taste of "American" beef. Wanda's grinds their own sirloin. They don't use the common, starchy white Mexican potatoes; they use russets. They make their own cole slaw, and their own potato salad (both are excellent) and cut their own fries.

Full bar, decent TVs, indoor and outdoor seating. Your typical "American" burger joint. Right in El Rinconcito!

Some folks say the prices are on the high end. I disagree. My burger, for example, was bigger than I could finish, came with fries and slaw, and was around $8 USD. Roughly the "Carl's Jr." price, but 10X the quality, flavor, and ambience.

Very Kool Restaurant, was so busy , absolutely packed. Our server Michelle was top notch. The food was incredible. It's was so flavorful and fresh. We had the Wanda burger with fries and wow what great flavor. We are going back in a few more days to try out the steak. Keep up the good work guys. We highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed. We went with friends the following day and all had Top Sirloin steaks and baked potatoes. It was an incredible meal. Better then the Keg Restaurant in Canada and so well priced. This place is so good we are heading there in an hour to eat again. If you ever visit here ya got to check this place out. Wanda’s is a great little restaurant in Guayabitos! The food is homemade and crafted with love and care. Wanda’s is a new favorite and we will defiantly be back. Not only are the burgers amazing but my picky 7 year old loved the chicken strips. The desserts are to die for. Grandma Wanda’s recipe for apple pie is scrumptious and perfectly executed by her family. On that note, the restaurant is owned and operated by brothers who named the restaurant in homage of their mother Wanda. Our server Michelle is the daughter/niece of the owners.
