Came here for dinner. Menu is small. I ordered their basic ”Arrachera Quesadilla”. It was the worst quesadilla of my life. It was basically the size of a flour taco tortilla folded in half with meat and the tiniest sprinkle of cheese, cut in half. It was about 3 bites each half. Two others from my party ordered the same plate and were also extremely disappointed. My boyfriend ordered their surf and turf and he was upset as well due to the flavor and size of his meat.
Our order: 1 Mar y Tierra (Surf and Turf) $340 pesos 2 Arrachera Quesdillas $125 pesos each 1 Limon Margarita $140 1 Tecate Beer $55 Bill should have came out to be $785 pesos Not including tax or tip. I was charged $1,340 pesos.
I was very clear with this waiter with what I ordered, went over it twice and he understood me very well. When confronted about the over charge, he tried playing dumb about the whole situation. Behind him were other employees laughing and smiling at him. You got the feel that they were laughing at their co worker who got caught trying to steal extra money. Nonetheless, Extremely disappointed in their food along with my big party of about 25 people. Even more upset that I was trying to be taken advantage of. This same waiter tried overcharging my friends $70 U.S dollars on their tab!!
I do not recommend this place AT ALL. If you decide to take the risk, make sure when paying you have a menu on hand and go over the price of each food and...
Read moreThe food was very good and the staff was attentive but the only thing I didn't like was that they added the tip of their own accord without even consulting us. That's a major no-no for me in any restaurant. That's why ticketmaster and all those venue sites are being sued in the US and are losing for those hidden fees/costs. The waiter saw me getting money out to leave a tip and he said "No, its fine, we already charged a tip" and I said "Where do you state that you will add a service fee?" (All this was spoken in spanish ofc) and he just smiled meekly and said it's what they charge. And nothing to do with the restaurant, but they had a grupo norteño (4 musicians) there and they played great but they wanted to charge 3000 pesos an hr (200 pesos a song) and (unbeknownst to them) Im a musician as well and know that local groups in northern Mexico charge between 1500-2000 pesos an hr. MAYBE 2500 pesos an hr but with a sound system and lights and the whole show like for an event so Im guessing they're just flogging the tourists with those prices since most aren't aware of normal rates. I would go again as long as I decide what the tip will be, if not, Id try...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a good view, Arcos playas is the place to go, right on the beach, beautiful view. Horrible food. The place has the vibes of a tourist trap. First of all there is a lot of bait and switches. While they say for example that you’re ordering Chile relleno, which is usually a stuffed Poblano pepper, they will us a mini white bell pepper. We ordered a zarandeado fish, which usually prepared of an entire large (1-3lb) snapper or some variation of sea bass, grilled on an open grill. We got a pan fried fillet :). Kids couldn’t find anything good on the adult menu, so decided to try the burger and nugget kid menu: burger is precooked and heated and nuggets are your typical department store nugget. The only highlight were the fish tacos that we switched to for the lack of other options and afraid to order any other dishes, they were 3/5. And the bacon wrapped shrimp were amazing, I’d just rather have them without crab substitute. So overall beware, I wouldn’t go for the food, but if you’re looking for a good view and a drink, you’ll...
