Nobumiko Sushi — Restaurant in Ensenada

I had: Camaron Roca - huge fluffy shrimps with fluffy batter and delicious sauce, good portion! Salmon sushi bite - fresh, my son loved it. Asparagos tempura - more that half were the part of the asparagus that a human can’t even chew -terrible. Cheescake tempura - delightful, was more like cake nuggets, put some in the fridge at home as leftovers cold was more like actual cheesescake. Server did not bring first item ordered, when I called her over to order more items she interrupted me to say my other order was almost ready as if she was expecting me to be impatient, asked for water and she didn’t bring it instead was on her phone. I asked if they had marashino cherries because my son saw them on the menu screen, she said she would check and never came back to tell me if they did or did not have. Server that didn’t care at all. No welcoming personality to new arriving guests. It’s too bad because it is cute inside and feels like a good private spot to relax and taste good dishes. 1 superstar server is all they need to make guests feel like they are in a special place and build clientele so it’s busy and popular. They will RIP YOU OFF. The menu says that sashimi is supposed to be 12 slices per order “Corte Fino”. We ordered 1 salmon and 1 tuna of the large order “Corte Queso”, to get 1 plate that only had 8 slices of each. The menu CLEARLY said 12 pieces, and there was no mention of 8 pieces anywhere. We were charged for both and after asking about it, they said that the large order comes with 8 thick pieces instead of 12 and that there’s nothing to do about it. What kind of place makes the large order 1.5x more expensive while giving less sashimi? On top of that, the fish came FROZEN.

A extremely accommodating and friendly Chef Kiavet. His version of Ceviche Peruano was very tasty and fresh. He even offered me substantial taste of Tuna Sashimi perfectly prepared. I had the most enjoyable service experience by Rocio during my visit, and plan on returning soon during my stay in Ensenada.
