El Toro — Restaurant in Izamal

I tried to have lunch here today. They were 1/2 full when I arrived and 2 other tables who arrived after me were given menus before I was. I finally had to ask for a menu and immediately asked for a drink which took another 10-15 minutes to arrive. In that time, I ordered a guacamole app and pollo asado, nothing earth shattering. The guac was edible but not great. 2 additional tables full of people walked out before anyone came to take their orders.

My food FINALLY came out a good 45 min after I arrived and it was all cold. I asked them to reheat it and they warmed the chicken slightly but everything else was still cold. I ate the rice and beans, but the chicken was flavorless and had a gross texture. Worst meal since arriving in Mexico 9 months ago. Absolutely would...

It's a small little place... service is a little slow, so if in a rush don't go here, but the food for the price is great and the food is fresh and tasty! I had the guacamole, salad, and soup...the first 2 were really nice...soup was ok... I really want the lemon/chicken... but since it is Good Friday... I went meatless and had the cream...
