Went with a friend today...we tried to go for lunch. A Tuesday afternoon, not a weekend or holiday. My friend arrived 20 min before me and waited almost that long for his lemonade which finally arrived in a cracked glass with sharp edges. I was completely ignored upon arrival and after 10 minutes had to flag the server down to ask for a drink. She had no problems attending to the 4 ladies seated behind us who received their lunch when we were told the lunch menu did not start until 1pm. We were never asked if we would like to order. We were never given a lunch menu only 1 breakfast menu for us to share. She never returned to ask if we would like another drink or to take our order. My friend was there a total of 1 hour and I was there 40 minutes. We finally left money on the table and walked to the plaza and found a fabulous lunch place with huge portions, very inexpensive and excellent service. I highly recommend The Burritos in the plaza....I will never bother trying Beer Garden again...100 pesos for the smallest margarita I've ever seen and completely ignored for 40 minutes. The view is nice but the place is loaded with flies and apparently the staff is too busy staring at their phones to serve...

I was visiting Mexico after 18yrs.. we ordered food at 2:03pm.. 1hr later the server says, "oh did you guys ask for an update on your food" we told him no.. no one had come to ask us and we didn't say anything to anyone. Server had an attitude. And says well your food was delayed so it will be 15min... well.... 15min turned into 45 min. . The so called manger told us for our trouble we will give you guys free appetizer of guacamole .... 😒 in the end. The food was OKAY... but super late.. at the end not even another, WE ARE SORRY nothing .. so... never again. Food should have been half off at least after waiting so long....AND THEY NEED TO CLEAN...
Read moreWe walked around the waterfront at lake chapala and enjoy the scenery. After our stroll through the lesser area in the lake we decided to stop at the beer garden for lunch. We ordered drinks. My wife had a couple of mimosas and I had a lemonade with mineral water. We ordered a salad to start and waited and waited for the salad to arrive. It took a long time and the server said they had to go buy eggs for the salad. Needless to say we did not order food because of the possibility of having to kill the chicken. So we only had the salad.
The view of the lake from the beer garden was amazing. The lake is right in front of the restaurant. I recommend visiting the Beer Garden at Lake Chapala. You will enjoy the food and drinks. And my wife says that the mimosas...
