Unlike most of the other reviews, we found the food to be pretty good. However, the service was lacking big time.
From the start when my son and I were outside viewing the menu, a group of waiters nearly ran us over to attend to something outside versus asking us if we had any questions or inviting us in. We decided to go in anyway, and the hostess barely smiled, offered me a courtesy beer, then sat us in an area away from where everyone else was seated. I didn't complain since we had a view of the main avenue, though I found it strange.
When our waitress arrived, she seemed less than friendly as she quickly reviewed some of the menu items. However, it was difficult to hear her over the loud music. The chips, salsa, and beans that she brought out first were barely enough for one person, but tasty. The food arrived quickly and was also delicious.
However, we barely saw our waitress again during the rest of the visit. She would stop by and ask if she could take our empty plates, but didn't bother to ask if we wanted anything else. Meanwhile, the other waiters stood in the corner talking amongst themselves. When we were ready to order dessert and another drink, she was nowhere to be found, so we had to ask another waitress for the check. Too bad, because we really liked the atmosphere and would have spent more if it weren't for the lack...
Read moreWe were initially intrigued by this place because we saw a mariachi group playing inside and the prices looked reasonable. And the ambiance seemed nice. However, we were disappointed in the food… I ordered huevos ahogados which describes the dish as having poached eggs, but when the dish arrived, the eggs were completely cooked and the salsa was way too salty. I rarely complain about food but I told the waiter that this wasn’t poached eggs and that this really wasn’t anything like what I expected and would it be possible to order something else (after I’d taken a couple probing bites). He said I could order something else but he still had to charge me for the first dish also. This surprised me. And frankly I didn’t want to pay for another dish after having such a disappointing first experience. So I tried a couple more bites and ultimately decided I just couldn’t eat it so I left it. Still got charged. My husbands food was better but nothing to write home about. The green juice was nice. But I won’t be back. Too bad. It seemed to have...
Read moreWe chose Casa Delores while visiting Tlaquepaque. It started out okay, we ordered drinks and they brought us complimentary beans and chips. Unfortunately that was the best part of the meal. We waited over an hour for our dinners, and it was later in the evening, so they were not busy. We finally had to ask when it was coming. He told us 7 more minutes! Food started arriving, but slowly. One order was enchiladas. The Tortillas were raw. Another order was salmon, it was completely raw two bites in. The staff seemed out that we were sending the food back. They said they would cook it more, but by then we were over it. They then ignored us completely and we had to ask for the check three times. We should have just gotten up and left. No apologies, nothing. Would not ever return or recommend...
