A Horrible Experience at ROCK ITIt Restaurant
I usually don’t write reviews, but our recent visit to ROCK IT Restaurant was so disturbing that I feel compelled to share the details. It started innocuously enough, but quickly escalated into an incident that left us shaken and uncomfortable.
First, my wife’s beer glass inexplicably exploded for no reason. Beer spilled all over her and her food, which was already disappointing. But it didn’t stop there. We were brought a new hamburger, but after just a couple of bites, my wife noticed the meat was completely uncooked. When she politely pointed this out to the manager, she was accused of having eaten most of the burger and refused any accommodation or replacement.
I ordered a Belgian beer, but when the waitress stopped pouring it because it foamed up, I wasn’t thrilled. But I waited, and she didn’t return for almost 40 minutes. When she did come back, the beer had gotten warm. I asked for a substitute, but she accused me of drinking most of it already and refused to credit it.
After a long and heated argument with the manager, they still refused to compensate us for the beer or the undercooked food. At this point, the waitress got on the phone and seemed to be calling someone—she was oddly excited, and we couldn’t help but feel like something was off. We just wanted to leave, but we also didn’t want to risk further confrontation with the manager or the waitress, who seemed to be getting backup from whoever she was calling.
Feeling unsafe and unwelcome, we decided to pay and leave as quickly as possible. We couldn’t shake the unsettling feeling that something was very wrong with the way the situation was handled. We will definitely not be returning to ROCK IT Restaurant. If you value your safety and a smooth dining experience, I would recommend you...
Read moreSo i.m on Mexico mini tour vaction from NYC and i just flew in from Mexico city and we decided to all meet up (local friends and traveler friends) at Rock it to listen to some live music and catch up. While the bar was of good ambiance but loud and the beer and food was nothing special, almost like a chili's of sorts with live music. Before they kicked us out they put our beers in red solo cups and told us thats its okay to drink on the streets here (lie). Once we left someone from our group that had their phone on the table noticed that he didn't have it. He ran inside spoke with the wait staff and they all denied having his phone. Once we began to call and text message the phone one of the waitress's came out and magically found his phone wanting a reward for finding it after denying having it. So once we left with our red solo cups with beer we got detained by the cops down the street of the bar for drinking on the street and then situation could have gotten bad if it wasn't for us being with some locals and them pulled the we where tourist card and had no money to give them after they threatened to arrest us for having beer in a cup. This happened our first night so i decide to just cut my stay short in Guadalajara and leave. I will advise while out late in Guadalajara not to have to much cash on you and uber it to help avoid from the cops...
Read moreHonestly a cool bar, but I have to give it a bad rating, because I have gone there twice now, and both times the waitress (different ones each time) tried to charge me 25-30% tip in a fake receipt they put on top of the real one. When called out on it, they tried to claim it was 10% which a 7 year old could probably figure out is not true... so yeah, would be a cool place if the waitresses weren't...
