The food was good, and the serving staff was friendly. However, be sure to carefully check your final bill! As I read in other reviews, there was a 5% overcharge. I was able to resolve it before paying. The coconut shrimp could have been large and good, but they were not fresh, so they were fried for a long time. The batter was hard, and you could immediately tell the shrimp inside wasn't fresh. We also ordered the stuffed pineapple, which was delicious. It was topped with mozzarella cheese and filled with a mix of octopus, shrimp, and bell pepper. It came with rice, two pieces of garlic bread, and grilled vegetables cooked in butter, all of which were tasty. Another dish I would recommend is the fillet fish. The type of fish changes based on the day's supply, but it was very fresh and delicious. The major downside of this place is the excessive number of flies. Even when we were just drinking, there were no flies, but once the food arrived, the flies became so persistent that we couldn't eat without constantly waving them away. Another issue is the checkout bill. The restaurant servers also recommend other activities, but they seem to be slightly overpriced. The restaurant offers a boat ride to Yelapa, but the boat has no roof and it seems to take a long time for the engine to start. I would recommend taking the boat you originally...
Read moreWe came here as part of a little tour. My food was incredible, the grilled octopus was so tender and delicious. I enjoyed the rice and bread. The veggies were a little greasy and not flavorful. The governor tacos were okay and my boyfriend's parents hated the fish tacos, but in their defense, fish tacos were not on the menu. They did try to serve us brown water in a cup instead of bottled, which I found funny, but would have made us seriously sick if we drank it, just make sure to speak up and ask for bottled. Bathrooms were disgusting according to my group. The servers were very friendly and willing to help. I enjoyed my...
Read moreMost of the food was excellent, but the prices felt steep for what we got. Unfortunately, three of our friends who ordered oysters ended up with food poisoning, which put a rough end to our trip. The oysters weren’t shucked tableside, so we had no way of knowing if they were fresh or high quality.
Beyond the meal, the overall experience of visiting Yelapa wasn’t great. While we were excited to explore, we felt very unwelcome by the locals as we walked through town. Between the overpriced food and the unwelcoming atmosphere, I wouldn’t recommend...
