Giardino di Bacco — Restaurant in Jalisco

As a rule, I avoid Italian restaurants in Guadalajara. Giardino di Bacco is an exception to the rule. Good food, you can tell they use prime ingredients, pasta is never over cooked. The house Tempranillo red wine is excellent. Waiters are polite and keep their distance unless you engage them. Great location; I love the space as it is not big, rather comfy, and good taste on decor. I’ve seen the owner a couple of times, he comes and checks on the tables. All and all, if I want some Italian food this is the place I go to...

Great portobello carpaccio! Good service, tiny place but cozy. The steak is below average although pricey, really slow the kitchen service. The wine by the glass has a very limited selection and the bottles they advertise, they don’t carry, we had to change our order 3 times as they don’t have it in stock. The fresh fries seem frozen and the lettuce is really dry. Such a shame as the quality has decreased over the years. Note that if you order liquor they bring two. Por dónde empiezo, de entrada pedimos Tártara de Atún fresco y Carpaccio de Salmón, ambos platos bien presentados, frescos y abundantes. Seguimos con un "Risotto al pesto e gamberi" y "Spaghetti aglio olió e peperoncino" dos autenticas obras de arte; no hay que cruzar el océano para conocer la verdadera cocina italiana, como dice un amigo napolitano "un universo de sabor". No tan rápido! Esto sigue, también hubo pizza, una cuatro quesos como dios manda, hecha en el punto justo, con una base dorada y una salsa que da envidia. Y como somos de buen comer cerramos el circulo haciendo lo propio con los postres, Brownie con helado y Panna de Maracuya, puro sabor (efectivamente teníamos que dejar un lugar para el postre). Me hicieron recordar la comida que hacia mi Nona, de parte de un fundamentalista de la cocina italiana, gracias, una partecita de Italia aquí en Guadalajara.
