We have been coming to La Terrazza in the Marina for about 2 years now, and the food was always good but not great but well portioned and reasonably priced. It was one of our favorite places in the Marina. Sadly the food and service have taken a steep downturn in the past few months. We used to get pasta dishes once in awhile and it used to be a great place for pizza and a glass of wine. On our last 2 visits the Italiano pizza had very few toppings and the crust was flavorless. The last visit we waited quite awhile to get the usual focacia bread and parmesan cheese. It was busy but it seemed as if they were short staffed. No more bowl of parmesan cheese now. The waiter was not particularly friendly but took our orders for pizza and a couple of pasta dishes for our guests. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter was diligent in refilling glasses but otherwise not very attentive. The Italiano pizza arrives with scant toppings and little cheese. And as I mentioned previous the crust was flavorless. The waiter did do a drive by with the cheese grater and quickly disappeared. Not once did he come by to see if we were happy with the meal. No offer of a dessert menu. As for the ambiance, we had a table on the dock and the intermittent odor of something that was dumped into the harbor was very unpleasant. If you get a table inside the restaurant near the sidewalk you will be greeted occasionally with the sewer smell coming from the access near Chappies. La Terrazza like other restaurants in the Marina are taking advantage of tourists and snowbirds during high season with high prices and lower quality. This seems to be a trend throughout Puerto Vallarta. We didn't voice a complaint as we were with guests and they seemed to like their meals. Sadly we will not be returning to La Terrazza and will look for...
Read moreFrom the beginning i had a bad feeling about how bad the service was going to be. I walked up the waiter standing there and asked for a table. Our waiter at no time was friendly, nor did he ever smile. We got there at 148pm and they told us they don't do pizza until 3pm. So we ordered other dishes. We get the bill later at about 250, and the bill came out to 1,720 MXN. We put 4 500's and wait for our change, while we waited until 3pm to order a pizza to go for the kids. At 315pm no one ever came back to give ua our change. So i asked the bartender to call our waiter because we were waiting on our change. The guy (tall skinny guy) comes and gives us the change and tells me "tip isn't included. We were going to leave him the 280 MXN tip but since he was keeping it, i asked for the change. At that same moment, i noticed they changed the total amount to 1,820 MXN. So i asked him about that, and begins to tell me that it was always 1,820 and pointed out all the food and drinks i ordered. Yes that was what i ordered, but they changed the price to keep an extra 100 MXN. Again coming from the US, and eating out we always tip over 10 dollars, so leaving the 280 MXN was the plan. But since he just kept it without saying thank you or have a nice day, i was going to take some of that back. Also we didn't order the pizza because of this. Very sad they would do this to people who aren't from here. Very bad experience, and hope it doesn't happen to...
Read moreThis is one of our favorite places to eat in PV for multiple reasons.
Friendly and attentive staff. We were almost an hour late for our reservation because traffic from Zona Romántica was crazy. 😬 We kept calling to check in and they actually held our table! They were so nice and attentive the whole time and didn’t rush us even though we were criminally late.
We ate out on the deck in the marina. So the ambiance was of course amazing. Feels very fancy eating while surrounded by yachts! Music, lighting, everything was a warm relaxing mood. There was a saxophone player which really took it to the next level.
Food and drinks are amazing! We both had the Alfredo and you could tell it was freshly made pasta with fresh ingredients. Bread basket has a variety, which is always a pleasant surprise. Caesar salad was crisp and fresh and the dressing was freshly made.
I was shocked by the prices. You would think it would be expensive due to the location and popularity but it was very reasonable. I highly recommend you make a reservation here when you come to PV. Try to do it on a Thursday evening because they have a night market that has unique vendors and items I’ve never seen sold anywhere else in PV. If you do, don’t miss out on the cheesecake lady’s stand. It’s the perfect desert to take home after you have some...
