Great location. But so is every other restaurant on this warf. We walked by this restaurant every day on our way to different restaurants along the marina and it always smelled good, so we stopped one day. I wish we had kept moving. We started with the guacamole and cheese with chorizo. The cheese came out without chorizo and the guac was the worst of our whole trip. I asked for some salsa picante hoping to give it a boost but they never got back with it. Actually nobody ever came back with anything, although I did try to wave the waiter down a few times. We ended up only receiving 2 entrees for 4 people. The entrees we did receive were each missing elements from their menu listing: Coconut shrimp: Missing the mango salsa. While tasty, it is very dry without any sauce. Molcajeta: Missing the tortillas. The molcajeta was different from any other one I've ever had. The base tasted like a tomato bisque with some marinara? It was a very strange flavor combination. In short, half our party left hungry and every plate we received was missing at least one thing. Nobody ever came to check on us after things were dropped off, and we couldn't even get the sodas or hot sauce that were promised. Just...
Read moreMy partner and i dined at Los mariachiles last night based on a recommendation from a neighboring tour guide whose rapport we quickly built. We are visiting from the states and are on the lookout for delicious, authentic Mexican food. We sat around 6:45pm. Wait staff was friendly. We asked to put the NBA finals on the tv and he accommodated us willingly. Our first issue was the wait time for the food. We were only one of two (or possibly three) tables in the entire restaurant. We received our food around 20-25 minutes later. The wait time was awful. I know this because we commented that we will be missing the sunset. They forgot my dipping sauce and when i asked the server, he said âthey will have to make it.â Which took another 5 minutes so i couldnât eat my shrimp and they got a little cold. (Shouldnât the dipping sauce come with the dish?) My boyfriends enchiladas were bland and not impressive. The guacamole was also lackluster and seemed like guacamole from a bag with lime juice only, no onions, cilantro, jalapeños, etc. We paid 820 in pesos and we felt it was overpriced for the quality and the lack of appropriate time considering it was slow. We wonât be back when we...
Read moreHad a good steak here once and decided to come back but they lost our order and all the other tables that came in behind us were being served and once I complained it too another 20 min to bring our order. When they did bring it the potato wasnât cooked because they were trying to rush our order. By the time I got another potato I was done eating. Probably wonât come back. Worst of all they only make excuses and tried to say the fish took long to cook, Fish, nothing cooks faster than fish.
UPDATE: Decided to try this restaurant again. They remembers us and made a special effort to make sure everything was good. The fish still took a long time to cook but this time they warned us. We finally figured out the the reason the fish takes long is because itâs frozen. Anyways I will upgrade my review and say that this restaurant is worth trying out. The location is nice because itâs a little quieter and the food and...
