Le Bon Plan — Restaurant in Jalisco

Me and my husband went for dinner for the first time to this place! We were so excited about it, we had seen great videos on Instagram. However, we were deeply disappointed… on the positive side, the food was great and we even met the owner and he was so nice to us… However the servers were TERRIBLE! They would totally ignore us, like we were not there. It was so bad, they really made us feel like we did not belong there… it was a very young lady and a guy, in contrast I saw they were so nice to other tables where there were people ordering lots of bottles of wine and of course the table where the owner and his family were, they were treated differently. And it’s not like we were there just for coffee, both my husband and I ordered entrees, main courses, a fine bottle of wine, etc… what I mean is, we felt totally discriminated by the servers, it was not nice… I have been to all kinds of places, traveled over the world and the way we were treated was not nice. I can’t say the same about rhe sommelier, who was very nice to us. Note: Forgot to mention that the waitress was especially rude, when I asked to see the dessert menu, which was supposed to be included in the main menu and when I told her it wasn’t, she immediately looked irritated and rudely rolled...

Came in a few hours after noon, no one was at the front to greet me and my partner. I looked around for 5 minutes and no one was anywhere, should’ve taken the red flag and left but I wanted to stay enjoy a nice dinner. (Spoiler) (didn’t have a nice dinner) It wasn’t very busy so the staff should’ve not been far but either way no one was around.

Ordered a A basic Tartar and it took almost an hour for it to arrive, the 8 pieces of fries that I got were cold and was not satisfied. Ordered entrees as well and they came out cold and late, and I say late because a table that came in 10-15 minutes after me got their entrees first. Everything sounds great on the menu but trust me when it comes out it’s not the same or just not made with passion. I work in a French restaurant and this was not it.

Also a note, my Old fashion I ordered did not come smoked and prepped how and old fashion should be made.

I want to give this restaurant a 4 Star for several reasons… authenticity. It is not easy to find the same ingredients outside of France to have the same Flavour; but they managed that very well. The Atmosphere is perfect…one seems to be in a small family restaurant in the countryside of Normandy or Provance, and the wine list is rewarding. A a city full of fantastic restaurants, Le Bon PLan is a real gem. The rabbit in mustard sauce was so tender, a feat alone to accomplish, that I almost considered ordetring again. The Frois Grass was perfect and uniquely served. The Duck brest was drooling good. And to top off the evening - the chocolate fondue pie was heaven. Obviously, we’ll recommended.
