Palominos is not what appears to be. Extremely disappointed in many expects. For the price, I expected a five star service and quality of food, instead I got lousy service and poor quality meats.
Service: When we first arrived, we were greeted and no reservation was necessary. The place was busy and elegant. Waiter and assistance waiter came to our table and introduced themselves. We were given a very nice welcome since it was our first time there. The entire presentation was very well done. We ordered two Chivas for drinks. No problem. Bottled water no problem. We ordered the Tuna appetizer, very delicious, no problem. Waiter presented the types of meats. A very nice way to get you interested in meats. We ordered a New York and Prime Rib medium rare. Up to this point we were happy with the overall experience.
Our steaks came but they were not well prepared, had to send back. The New York was not the correct temperature. The Prime Rib lacked quality and presentation. The baked potatoes were poorly presented. The Prime Rib was very fatty. A very poor cut. My mother ordered an Azteca soup since she was not very hungry. The steaks came first and no soup was provided. I had to ask for the soup. Once the soup arrived, I was not impressed. The entire food was mediocre at best. We wanted to order another drink.
I asked for an Old Fashioned. Whisky and an orange peal smoked. I asked the waiter if they knew how to make one, he said yes. No clue what they were doing until I show them how to make the drink. The drink was the worst. I sent my back. Don’t say you know how when you really don’t.
Once I sent the one drink back, the service went from mediocre to worse. We were completely ignored. Both waiters were giving attention to other bigger tables. We were asking for service instead of them asking us. The best excused we got was, “we were not expecting many people, reason why we were not giving you service”
We finally ordered a cheese cake. The texture was like old gelatin. Most likely it was not fresh.
Once we got the check, 250 dollars more or less for practically two people since my mother only had soup and water. My assumption would be, they are proving the best quality food with the best service but that was not the case. The waiter had the nerve to ask, would you like to add a gratuity, I asked, what do you think the gratuity should be? he said, I know we were NOT the best and I apologize but what ever you would like to give.

Read moreThis is a very well designed and welcoming restaurant. It has a very modern but classic feel. We were very excited to eat here and the food didn't disappoint! Everything from the first sauces they bring out for the crispy flat bread, the appetizers, the entrees and desert were all excellent! We also had cocktails and a bottle of wine which were all excellent as well.
The service however was somewhat disappointing. Upon being seated we felt very rushed by our server. There might have been an issue with their ability to hear us but the initial process was a bit unsettling. The server did seem to settle in as the night went on and we were happy overall.
The most disappointment came when we received our bill to find out that we had been charged twice for an entree. I had asked the server for medium rare "more rare if possible". When the steak arrived a portion was medium well at best and in thicker portion medium at best. I wanted to enjoy my main course as much as I had enjoyed the other portions of the meal so I returned the steak. The server stated we were charged twice due to the fact that the steak was cooked as requested and since it was returned I was charged for an additional order. They didn't mention this when the item was returned.
I think this is a terrible way to be treated as a customer at an establishment that would seem to be of high quality. This unfortunately was a poor way to finish off the night. We didn't complain since the cost wasn't too great however I would hope customers would be...
