Jumiles — Restaurant in Mérida

My mom and I absolutely adored this place! We were glancing at the menu and the manager or owner ran out to great us. The inside is very comfortable! We were given options on what table we would like - the seats are very comfortable, the air conditioning is very refreshing, and the music is not too loud.

I had the chilaquiles verdes and added chorizo - it’s the best I’ve had in Merida! It was a lot lighter than most chilaquiles verdes I’ve had - I ate my entire plate and still felt fine to go and shop.

The staff was very very kind and attentive.

We made a reservation for 1030pm Friday night. We arrived and had to show the waiter our reservation. He looked at it and went inside to talk to the cook. He never returned and left us standing awkardly, outside, at the door.

We ended up leaving and finding somewhere else to eat.

Reply to the owner: I first spoke to him in Spanish and then showed him the translation of what we were saying on our phone. “We have a reservation for 1030pm and here is our confirmation from OpenTable”. We had a great experience here. Decided to stop by for a quick lunch and ordering quite a few items from the menu. The overall quality of everything was excellent. I found the portions of tostadas a little small, and salsas are not spicy at all which is a shame. They have a spicy chipotle salsa but not a red one or matcha.
