One of the best sushi I had in my life and you know, I count with 20+ years in eating Japanese food. I came here with my husband who has never, neither once, eat sushi or sashimi in his life. Well, mr. Van den Putte is still shocked from this place, from how good and I underline three times GOOD the food was. They have options like sitting on a common table or sit at the sushi bar to get a more personal experience. Of course we went for the sushi bar. The place has a classy and soft atmosphere, with perfect music and lighting. We sat and we’ve been immediately welcomed by the amazing staff and served some cold drinks. And they have a good beverage menú. In the meanwhile our personal chef (yeah you got it right, a PERSONAL CHEF), started serving us right away a salad as a starter and kept on making nigiris that you can see in my photos, and they taste heavenly. I’m just sorry I didn’t took a photo to the king crab one but the truth is, that I was so mesmerized by what I was eating...that I just eat it and then I realized I didn’t take the photo of it. I beg your pardon. Well in any case it was delicious and I’ll sacrifice myself voluntarily to go back and order it again to eat...ehm, to take the photo for you. The sushi just melts in your mouth and it’s the perfect combination of tastes and delicious sightsee. You know when you look at something and it look delicious but also beautiful and you feel almost guilty for eating it? That’s it, but don’t feel guilty and go and live this unique experience in...

Hotaru offers a nice selection of interesting combination of makis. You can taste that the fishes are fresh and of good quality.

Unfortunately, with the rolls, I didn’t feel like there was enough fish for me to taste. It would have been nice if they cut bigger pieces of fish and put them in the rolls because I felt that the rolls (while small) were all masqueraded with other ingredients that didn’t matter.

We ordered the Taquitos Mixto (as a starter) Tiger Rolls and the Spider Rolls. They were all okay. Nothing so exciting to justify the prices they charge.

We didn’t stay long or order more food unfortunately, because my son could not eat anything there.

They do not have a kid friendly menu. It would be nice if they offered at least gohan, udon or fried rice. So parents be aware if your kid is a picky eater or has a peculiar diet. This wouldn’t be the best place to eat.

However, the service and reception was an absolute delight. Everyone was very kind, sweet and polite. We really appreciated this aspect the most.

Our bill for 2 mocktails, 1 entree, 2 rolls and service was...

This was such an impressive experience overall. We felt like we had the restaurant to ourselves. Sitting at the bar and interacting with the chef made it feel very private. Waiters are more like butlers, never intrusive but always on point, and the captain seems to be straight out of a Four Seasons hotel. Staff is top notch, and must be praised again and again.

The food. Extatic. We had three different rolls (the chef's recommendations). One of them (Spyder) had crispy soft shell crab, salmon and white fish, spectacular. Another one (Red Dragon) impressed my partner. We also both agreed that the Lotus roll was a lifetime top 3. The passionfruit-based cocktail was fresh, gingery and original.

We were offered taro mochis at the end, delicious end to a perfect meal.

I want this place to keep on delivering the same experience and thrive, but at the same time I hope it remains a well-kept secret so I can keep it...

The pictures on Google reviews are absolutely deceiving. The place looked huge and stylish but we were shocked to see that this place is so small. Overall 4.8 is really a joke. Let’s start with the “giant” scallops. They tasted like dried scallops. We believe the frozen scallops were even better. The menu shows king crab “Kani” nigiri style and they gave us shredded “Kani”. You can’t really see if it’s Kani or not. Even those imitation crab sticks tasted better. Chutoro tasted really fishy and the color of the fish told you that it’s not really at the standard of chutoro. The uni wasn’t fresh either. The nigiris were tiny. No idea why this place is rated so high. The red dragon roll was fine. We paid close to 1300 pesos but you can really find better sushi from any supermarkets in the US. We were totally disappointed.
