Small cat cafe in the historic center of the city. If you’re on the street and can’t find the cafe, look up and you’ll see Mistu Cafe written on a window on the second floor and accessed via the escalator inside a mall. I would recommend that the owner remove some of the merchandise for sale to make space for the cats to access the ledge and shelves around the walls of the cafe. There are tons of cat related plushies, stickers, clothing, cat toys, etc for purchase. None seem to be handmade and mostly from overseas manufacturers. The cats are mostly on the floor and will often nap in any empty chairs or hang out in the “Cat Zone”. They could benefit from having some shelf space to nap and avoid the busy floor. This way they’re more visible as well. It can be hard to spot them in between all the people sitting down. The food and drinks take some time to come out, and service can be a bit cold and unwelcoming at times. It is evident that this place is very popular, and as a result, the staff may feel overwhelmed. If you want to come here, beware of the long wait times and limited space.
On to the good! The panes a vapor or steamed buns are super cute and yummy! They are shaped like cats and have cute faces. Many of the drinks are served with a decoration, whether it’s latte art or paw shaped candy or other edible decor. My smoothie sadly did not have any cute decor. The hot lattes did have cats drawn on them. You can order whole, skim, or almond milk for your drinks. There are cat toys for you to use with the cats. You must wash your hands upon entry and sanitize with the provided spray every time you touch a cat. You can also buy different types of cat treats at the counter to feed the cats. If you buy a Churu treat, they will definitely ambush you and come running to wherever you are. All the cats are available for adoption, and you can also volunteer to work at the cafe. Note that the time limit is an hour per table. Overall it is a very cute place to interact with cats if you have the time to wait...
