We stayed at this hotel for five nights. Initially, everything seemed fine, but once we began making basic requests, the experience quickly went downhill.
My husband got sick and was feeling cold, so we asked for an extra blanket. Shockingly, we were told they couldn't provide one because they only have the "exact amount needed" — no extras. We also requested complimentary water bottles, which are usually provided, but were told they only offer them when housekeeping comes (which had already passed for the day).
My mother had to leave a day and a half early, and we had unused food vouchers. The hotel had previously said we could request a simple packed lunch in this situation, but when I asked for it, they initially refused. It wasn’t until my husband insisted a second time that they reluctantly agreed. Even then, they gave more excuses, claiming they needed to "confirm with the kitchen." The boxed lunch itself was nothing special — just a yogurt, a basic sandwich, and a small box of cereal. Keep in mind, this was already paid for.
Overall, the staff constantly gave excuses for why they couldn't fulfill the simplest of requests, which made the stay frustrating and uncomfortable. On weekends, it gets worse — the hotel becomes very noisy with local guests who are loud, slam doors, and make noise in the hallways throughout the night.
The only positive was the breakfast food — it was decent. However, there's also a business across the street that blasts loud music all day, which adds to the overall discomfort.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here. Spend a little more and stay somewhere that treats guests better and doesn’t come up with an excuse...
Read moreHotel is centrally located in the Centro Historico section of Mexico City. This is a busy section, with lots of people, so not for everyone. For us, it was perfect in terms of getting to everything on our list and most trips from here were approx 15 mins by car or in some cases by walking. The only trip that took additional time for us was Teotihuacan. Tons of shopping and food options in the area. Hotel and rooms are kept immaculate and the staff is super friendly and helpful. | Hotel serves an excellent breakfast. We stayed 10 days and each day had staples (chilaquiles, pancakes, eggs, fresh juice, coffee, yogurt with toppings, refried beans, eggs) along with items that were changed up (different meat and potato items. One day even included a pasta dish).|Hotel has a good workout room, which includes a bike, elliptical and treadmill. It also has a bench, free weights and machine. We found towels and bottled water every morning there; a small detail that made a difference.| Hotel restaurant was excellent. Expect to pay a bit more than the surrounding area restaurants, but it's worth it. And for anyone traveling from the states - we had drinks, appetizer, 2 mains, dessert and coffee. With tip, the meal cost 1500 pesos or $80. | Staff is attentive and food is excellent, with an eye to presentation. Our waiter Angel made sure that we were well taken care of for the meals that we ate there. Hidden gem here, the bartender. He makes a mean mojito and sangria. We never ordered anything else, because these are our favorite drinks and why mess...
Read moreI generally don't go out of my way to write reviews on Google, but wanted to sing the praises of Hotel Flamencos. Despite being located in Centro Historico and next to a busy bus stop/the Pino Suarez metro station, it is surprisingly quiet and peaceful even though it is barely tucked away from the main road. The facilities are updated, modern, and clean and we loved how spacious our room was and all the amenities it came with (safe, mini fridge, iron, coffee machine). We especially appreciated the rain shower with perfect water pressure and hot water. They also have a full-service restaurant and complimentary breakfast buffet with a daily rotating menu (fruits, pancakes, yogurt, cereal, bread, chilaquiles, etc.)—there is something for everyone. Room service is also very reasonably priced. The folks working there are very accommodating and always went above and beyond for us during our week-long stay. My mother has a bad knee and the people at the restaurant would always give her some ice from the bar so she could ice her knee after a long day of walking. When my dad and I got food poisoning the second to last day of our trip, the staff checked in to make sure we were doing okay and also let my mom pick up some bread from the breakfast buffet for us to eat. We will be recommending Hotel Flamencos to any friends who are...
