Onomura Prado Norte — Restaurant in Mexico City

The service was impeccable. The waiters were very friendly, knowledgable about the menu and their service was fast (especially considering the restaurant was almost full).

The interior decor and style is also really cool.

The asparagus with beef was my favourite dish. The meat was soft and the asparagus crunchy, with a really amazing sweet sauce on top.

The rib eye gyozas were nice but I’ve had better ones elsewhere.

I had two cocktails (a piña colada and a cosmopolitan). Both were nice but I would have liked something a bit different like a house cocktail.

Price came to 1,850mxn per person (including 15% tip) which seemed slightly expensive but not too bad...

Me duele mucho poner este review porque soy gran fan del Onomura de Interlomas, sin embargo, el de Prado Norte deja mucho que desear. El lugar esta muy bonito, pero la comida y el servicio :( Es un lugar caro, y esperábamos que todo fuera igual que el Onomura de Interlomas. Siempre nos sentamos en la barra para ver como preparan los nigiris. Fue muy triste ver lo que ocurrió en esta ocasión. Empezaban con algo, lo dejaban a medias por atender otras órdenes y al final, se tardaban más en todo. Cosas que eran flameadas nos las daban completamente cocidas y en ocasiones frías. Pedimos un nigiri que tenía huevo de codorniz y el huevo estuvo minutos ahí enfriándose antes de que armaran el nigiri. Para los nigiris de wagyu (eran 3) pedimos que los dejaran al final (habíamos pedido 2 adicionales). Después de insistir varias veces en que wagyu era al final, hacen primero esos, los dejan ahí enfriándose y como que entre que querían hacer los otros nos dieron estos ya fríos y uno de los otros hasta el final (pieza que también estuvo semi armada por casi 10 min). Tuvimos que recordar varias veces de nigiris que olvidaban prepararnos y levantar la mano para pedir algo de tomar por que nadie venía. Cabe resaltar, que el restaurante no estaba ni a la mitad de capacidad. Si ésta hubiera sido mi primera experiencia en Onomura, jamás hubiera vuelto o visitado otra sucursal. So… I make a reservation, they can’t find the reservation (that’s fine) we’re seated anyway. There is no one else here at the time.

The drinks were watered down, it took forever for the food, and I saw my server twice— once to order and once to close the check. Mind you, we were the only two here!

The worst part was the server added their own tip and did not let me pick what...
