I came here with my two little children because it was the only place in Mexico City that I could find that was having a 4th of July celebration in 2024.
The food was served to us cold. Child-sized portions of foods and beverages weren’t available; only portions for adults were offered. My daughter said that her hot dog was too spicy, and so refused to eat what I bought her.
We had to clean our table ourselves before eating.
While we were eating, other people kept bumping into us every couple of minutes because the tables and chairs were crowded too close together with insufficient space left between.
Though there were many other families with small children, the atmosphere wasn’t really family friendly, being designed more for rowdy beer drinkers. It felt kind of like I was stuck in a college frat party.
The music was so loud that we couldn’t hear each other talk. I would have liked introducing ourselves to other people at the restaurant to make friends with other American expatriates, but what is the point if one can’t hear anything that the other person says?
Once the live rock band started playing music that was even louder, we just wanted to escape Pinche Gringo as fast as we could.
We left feeling nauseated and with our ears aching.
I was really disappointed. I had wanted to share my American culture with my kids, but I don’t think they were left with a positive impression.
We came here 5 years ago for Thanksgiving 2019. Back then, we had a good experience, with warm, delicious food and a more...
Read moreToo expensive for the quality of food. First time at this restaurant. At our arrival we were asked if we had reservation (We do not had), so we were directed to the second floor. (First floor with reservation, second floor without reservation) We tried the thanksgiving menu (754 pesos). If you want a hot meal, this is not the place. The time you spend making a queue is long, once you get to the food counter the staff is quick and friendly, and here is where your food starts to get cold. The next step is to order your drink and pay at the second counter; (if it’s crowded, the service is sooo slow). When you finally finish the second step, you have to go to a third counter to pick up your dessert. And when you finish with all those steps and arrive at your shared table, the food is truly cold. (My suggestion is to reverse the order of this steps in order to receive your hot food at the finish.) And now with the taste of the food. The turkey was very dry and not too tender, although the taste was good. The portions (cranberry compote (not sauce), smashed potatoes, turkey gravy, and green beans) were too small but ok on the taste, and the dessert was average. Overall for me, the price we paid for the quality we received makes it...
Read moreI was impressed with both the food and with their event management. I went for a Super Bowl watch party. The place is huge, and there were a lot of people there. But they managed the crowds (door, bar lines, etc.) quite well. As for the BBQ: I was pleasantly surprised! I lived in Texas for a decade (and I'm married to a Texan), and I've made my way around Southern barbecue joints. This place is legit. -In true Texas BBQ style, you order directly from the pit. This is not only authentic, but it allows you to order exactly how much you want (down to the gram) and see what you're getting and as it's sliced. The by-weight pricing structure is also more flexible for trying multiple meats. -I went more Texas (brisket and sausage), and also got baby-back ribs. (I didn't try the more Southern style pulled pork.) All were very good! Brisket was fairly moist. -Also in good Texas style, plates come with bread (rolls) and the condiment counter has free onions, jalapenos, pickles, and sauce. Sauce was good, not too sweet. -The sides were only so-so. Mac & cheese is pre-cooked shells with a cheese sauce (possibly Kraft) mixed in after cooking, and the coleslaw just didn't do a lot for me (maybe add more...
