"Lion D'Or" is located on a zone on which Canteens and Saloons are in really tough competition. I mean from the Mirador and Del Bosque at Chapultepec to all the way south to the Flor de Valencia, all central and south west of Mexico City is filled with plenty of options of good Mexican canteens which are the creme of the cream of establishments in Mexico City. Skin over the skin of the City. Lion D'Or is a very fine establishment and most of times it has a mood and a superb environment with live music that you can feel familiarity between all the attendance, the service and the place by itself. The kitchen with all the dishes and daily menu is amazing well served and with marvelous flavor, whatever you try will be at great level. On Thursday, best day of the week to come, you will find snails in red sauce simply a delight for the customers along with the shrimp soup one of the best in town and the superb baby goat. Tortas are one of the best you can find and it is one of the topics to evaluate in a Mexican canteen, "Lion" deserves the rating it takes. On saturday Mexican lamb bbq is served and you also have buffett option for a really moderate price. Drinks are perfectly served in quality and quantity and with all the aforementioned "Le Lion" remains faithfully the inscription of its slogan that can be read in the marquee outside its historical walls: "My grandfather met it... My father taught it to me ... And I..." because each drink and dish have its own story and all content the most wonderful assets of the Mexican tradition: the kindness and hospitality of our Country....
