Toks — Restaurant in Mexico City

It was nice to be elevated and apart from the bustle of the lower deck of the airport. The server was short and impatient. Food was subpar quality for the incredible food Mexico City is known for. I had the tortilla soup in a bowl, which was really a cup and looked nothing like the picture, and it was lukewarm. I then had the Arrachera steak, their most expensive dish. It was chewy, very hard to cut, with a lot of stringy tendons that were inedible. 30 minutes prior to closing, they threw water on the floor by me and started mopping. I had to walk myself and my luggage across wet, slippery floors.

Legit one of the only dining in options while you await for your flight in Terminal 1, even though sometimes there is a queue the staff makes sure to have tables available in short time. The food is really good and it's open almost all day and since pretty early in the morning. They have breakfast and probably food packages that already include refill or so. As well as freshly baked pastries. You can pay in cash or with card. They have elevator access from downstairs right into the restaurant in case you are carrying luggage with you. If you have time to enjoy breakfast, this is your place in the terminal. Food is quite good (compared with other options inside the airport), service is really quick and the waitresses are really friendly. The only thing is that when it’s really crowded, it’s difficult to move around , specially if you have bags.

Update: Sadly, from the last time I wrote the review above, the food quality has decreaseed but still has a good level. Apparently there‘s a tendency from the kitchen staff to think that what must be brought to you warm are the dishes and not the food. I don‘t know about you, but I prefer warm food to...
