My husband and I had dinner here on Sunday evening. There were a few couples there, so it was fairly empty. There is no AC so we sat at a table under a fan. The restaurant is larger than what it appears from the outside.
The aqua frescas ($50 Mxn) were made to order and were good. My husband had hibiscus with basil and I had lime and watermelon. Service was good. They do not serve chips and salsa prior to meals although you might be able to order them. My husband had Tampiquena ($385 Mxn) and I had carne asada ($300 Mxn). Black beans and rice were good as was the chicken enchilada. The guacamole needed more lime juice and salt. The steaks & carne asada was chewy, flavorless and must have been cooked in the oven or stovetop, definitely not grilled. The onions served on top were decent. The small container of salsa tasted like a jar variety. We were very disappointed and cannot recommend either dish. If we come again in the future, we would get...
Read moreI give credit where credit is due and this place is no more than 3 stars. Food is average. 5/5 for their True soup, it was delicious and the highlight of our visit. The enchiladas with verde sauce and chicken with mole sauce left something to be desired. The sauces were bland, the enchiladas were small tortillas cut in half, filled with leftover pollo with cartilage pieces from the chicken used for mole. The chicken with mole was a quarter chicken, sauce was weak, small servings of rice and even smaller serving of refried beans. Have had much better versions of enchiladas and the mole dishes elsewhere.
Atmosphere was neat, very jungly feeling and I like how the dining area stretches so far back.
Service was above average, attentive and keen to help with English-Spanish barrier.
This place could be 5/5 but their food was holding them back. Would honestly prefer to eat at tacquerias...
Read moreWe have been to this restaurant several times and have always found the food to be great. We took friends last night and my husband’s meal was substandard to say the least. He ordered the pork chop and when it came, it looked nothing like any cut of meat we’ve had anywhere. There is another pork chop on the menu which is stuffed so it appeared that they had cut the meat in half and used that cut as the pork chop he ordered. It was full of fat and gristle and anyone who knows my husband, knows he never leaves any food on his plate. He ate about 1/4 of it and put it to the side. Thankfully, we had shared a great Caesar salad so he wasn’t starving. We never said anything as we didn’t want to cause anyone embarrassment. The waiter had an ear phones in and was giggling with what appeared to be, someone in...
