Iguanacaxtle Restaurant — Restaurant in Nayarit

This is a comfortable restaurant, they have these beautiful hancrafted wooden tables and it is very airy, comfortable in the heat. I visited for breakfast and had their Happy Time Smoothie which was very good and Joaquins Omelet which was pretty good. Omelet was a bit flat, but came with beans and fresh fruit. The prices were very good here, best I've seen for breakfast in town. They have a lot more "Americanized Breakfasts" available, which isn't really what I am in Mexico for.

Update: I ate here for dinner. Prices are a bit steeper at night, but still affordable. I don't know what it is about La Cruz, but there is no such thing as a bad burger in this town. We are avoiding seafood currently because red tide has stricken Banderas Bay, so we have been eating a lot of meat. Tonight's Hawaiian Burger at Iguanacaxtle was juicy and delicious and to top that off, the fries are hand cut with just the right seasoning. Live music...

We enjoyed a delicious & relaxing meal this evening--guacamole, and the flank steak plate. Everything we ordered was delicious, the entire experience from the staff to the ambiance was great. We'll be back.

I'm hoping that in the high season we'll get some live music because the location is really nice. It's all on one level so it's a very accessible location for all, including folks with mobility issues, pets, strollers, etc.

October 2023 update: we've now had the carne asada plate, the combo burrito, crispy chicken sandwich, french fries (so salty and perfect), fajitas, aguachile, azteca soup, and quesadillas. Everything we've had is truly delicious. My favs have been the mushroom quesadillas, carne asada, and the crispy chicken sandwich. I’m not one to make a review on here, but couldn’t let this one slide. Was looking forward to a nice meal at this place with all the good reviews..that didn’t happen. The flank steak (most expensive item on the menu) was by far the worst “steak” I’ve ever had. Not sure if was cut off the back of a rat or what, but do yourself a favour and do not order it.
