Vasconcelos Restaurant — Restaurant in Nuevo León

I had high expectations on this place since it’s located in a fancy shopping center/residential complex. The heat was unbearable (as it is always in Monterrey in the month of June for which one SHOULD prepare in advance); you would expect that at least the dusty old fans on the terrace work properly, or a port-a-cooler be installed somewhere to relieve some of the scorching heat. I felt truly sorry for the hostess and the head of management trying to accommodate everyone. But this was clearly a failed mission from the start. The head of management was always kind, and attentive, and finally gave us a table inside where there was AC, only to receive mediocre service and ok food. Sorry but we will not go back again. They tried to make our experience a bit better, but the place seems abandoned by its owners, leaving the staff to struggle on their own. Chairs are torn underneath so there is no support for...

Nice restaurant with a very chill outside patio area. Evening and night time vibe on patio is awesome. They have strings of lights overhead and a retractable roof for the patio. We didn't stay in the restaurant but it's very nice and inviting.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We don't speak any Spanish, but the entire staff did their best to help us understand.

The food was so goodhere. We all had tacos for dinner. They were delicious, especially the shrimp tacos. Margaritas were too easy to drink. Get at least two of them while you're there.

Washrooms were very clean and nicely decorated with high-end finishes.

Overall, I will be back the next time I visit Monterrey, MX....

Es la segunda vez que vengo aquí, no suelo ser muy crítico de las fallas de los establecimientos, pero esta vez vale la pena mencionarlas. La primera vez mi esposa y yo pedimos un pulpo zarandeado y un ceviche para comer. El pulpo llegó completamente frío (impensable para un zarandeado), y el ceviche un plato lleno de arúgula y debajo un poco de pescado. Mi molestia se acrecentó cuando además la actitud del mesero fue indiferente y no dieron solución más que meter el pulpo al microondas. La segunda vez fuimos acompañados de su familia para almorzar, y no es exageración (pueden revisar mis reseñas de Google, no suelo ser crítico), estuvimos esperando la comida 50 minutos y tardaron en traernos las bebidas media hora (agua mineral, agua natural, jugo). El mesero pasaba por la mesa y se sentía como evitaba hacer contacto visual para no atender. Al llegar la comida, me sirven los chilaquiles que pedí (la salsa llegó aparte, supongo porque saben que tardarán en llevarlo a la mesa y si no se quejarán más los clientes porque se harán aguados), y me empieza a dar un sabor muy extraño, a quemado, pero la comida se veía en orden, creí que era cosa mía y le comento a mi esposa que pruebe el totopo para ver si soy yo, y antes de hacerlo me dice "son los frijoles" y todos los de la mesa comenzaron a decir lo mismo. Todos los frijoles en todos los platillos estaban completamente quemados, sin exagerar, se veían normales pero sabían terrible, igual sin solución por parte de nadie.

En fin, una tercera vez no habrá, pero en ambas ocasiones tuvimos experiencias no agradables, desconozco si hace bastantes años el trato era diferente. Si algo similar les llegara a suceder, sobre aviso no hay engaño! Pareciera que es un restaurante al cual las personas acuden cuando no hay más opciones disponibles.
