If you're in the area and looking for a baja-style fish taco, look no further. Crispy, batter-fried fish or shrimp with cabbage and creamy sauce on a red corn tortilla? YES. It doesn't get any better than that.
One could say that the service was a little slow, but I call it relaxed. Slow down! Don't come here if you're in a rush (although we were a party of 8 - hard to truly gauge). The fresh, frozen cocktails are made to order and take a minute (worth the wait), but the ice-cold beers hit the table right away.
After a couple of culinary "misses" in the area, we were so thankful to make it to to La Ola. Too bad it was on our last day! 10/10 will 100% return (multiple times) on our next trip to San...
Read moreTldr: nice place, bad food, pricey. The restaurant has a nice ambience but it’s not enough to make up for the quality of food. My friends and I all ordered tostadas: octopus, tuna and ceviche. What we didn’t realize is that all of the tostadas toppings we ordered were made with mayonnaise. In what world is ceviche made with mayonnaise? I personally don’t enjoy mayonnaise even in sparing amounts and they put an excessive amount on their food. The octopus is made with a combo of cream cheese AND mayonnaise. The food is priced for tourists. Maybe they have other things on their menu that are good but everything with mayonnaise that we ordered left us feeling sick and our stomachs upset. Toilets...
Read moreI come often to the coast and have eaten and had drinks here twice. The first time was very busy with slow service but enjoyable. The tacos con camarones were delicious! The second time was a few weeks later. I ordered the same but was served fish tacos instead that were fried on the outside and raw and chewy on the inside. If I wanted ceviche, I would have ordered it! On top of this, they charged me full price and sent me packing with a to-go order of one shrimp taco. Bad service, bad food, bad vibe. Demasiado! Espero que no sea una muerte lenta por veneno alimentario, pero no volveré para...
