Went here cause I saw from a tt that apparently the tamale was the best he tried. I ordered almost the same things that he mentioned and I was kind of disappointed. For starters was ordered the garnachas with the bolitas the queso. They were ok if I’m honest the sauce that they use is similar to chipotle so is was new to me. To my surprise I only received one bolita de queso, mind you it’s around the size of a rubber ball. I the ordered the stuffed plantain and again it was underwhelming. Next I ordered the elote tamal and I will say it was the best thing I had there but definitely not for those in search of something savory. The agua de tamarindo was very delicious I will say. Beautiful place and good customer service but overall I don’t recommend since it’s a little on the pricer side. Unless you are in search for very unique flavors

I ate at La Teca today and thoroughly enjoyed myself. They have indoor and patio seating. I'm not familiar with food from the Isthmus and the waiter quickly explained the different dishes. I had the Plato Istmeño. It is one of the most expensive dinners at $200 pesos but it had chicken, potatoes, cabbage, plantain, three garnaches and a chili relleno. I asked for a friend who doesn't eat pork and the garnaches and chili relleno both use beef. I had a nice dessert and my bill was $285 including a drink. I plan on returning.

LaTeca offers incredibly authentic Oaxacan flavors. The mole rojo is absolutely amazing—rich, complex, and full of depth. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked, juicy, and came in a generous portion. While it’s just outside the main neighborhood, it’s only a short, inexpensive cab ride or a pleasant walk, making it well worth the visit. A hidden gem for anyone craving real Oaxacan cuisine.

We made an effort to visit all of the top restaurants in Oaxaca during our week here and this is by far our favorite. We came here at the recommendation of our guide Rodolfo. Rodolfo said that when news reporters asked the famous chef Enrique Olvera what his favorite restaurants are in Mexico, he listed two and La Teca is one of them. We got the tasting menu the first night we were here and came back two nights later and ordered our favorites. You MUST come here when you are in Oaxaca. You will have the best meal of your...
