Holy Mole!!! By Far, the best Oaxacan traditional food in Puerto esc. We asked every local for the best Mole in town, and they sure know best! Every time they talk about this place, it gives them "tingles" and excitement. It definitely satisfied our craving for authentic food in the most traditional way. It's very affordable, and servings are just enough to fill your hungry stomach. There is something special about their tortillas that you won't find anywhere else. I also wanted to mention the live music, amazing service, and the ladies working by the hot stones, who crafts the magic tortillas. I will come back in a heartbeat. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Sending love from...

...had the Pork Ribs in Chicatana Sauce. It features pork ribs cooked in a rich and complex sauce made with chicatanas, which are a type of flying ant that is considered a delicacy in the region.

The chicatanas are harvested during the rainy season when they emerge from their nests in large numbers. They are then cleaned, dried, and ground into a powder that is used to flavor the sauce. The sauce also typically includes a variety of other ingredients, such as chiles, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and spices.

The pork ribs are slow-cooked in the sauce until they are tender and flavorful. The resulting dish is a unique and delicious combination of sweet, savory, and slightly...

The original taste of traditional Oaxaca cuisine, clean tasty and good prices. It really pays off to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you visit Puerto Escondido Oaxaca, this place is a must. They serve traditional oaxacan food and sea food as welI. I recommend Caldo de Piedra, literally "stone soup", because of the super hot stone, that is put inside the pot to boil it, with a mix of shrimps, red snapper, onion, tomato and chile. Just be patient to retire carefully the stone and let the soup...

Several Taxi drivers recommended this place and so I decided to stop by. First is, place is hot, not unbearable but still gets hot since there is no divide between the kitchen and there were only a few working ceiling fans. Waitresses are really polite, cheerful and looking your way if you need anything. I ordered a tlayuda mixta which is chorizo, tasajo(beef) and cheese and it was delicious. It was really cheap and can easily be shared. I would for sure recommend this place.
