I love eating at places where I feel welcome and where food is satiating, tasty and nourishing. This is COCOFAM!
🥗Menu: Angel and his wife Jessica opened up the place a couple of years ago. They offer vegan and vegetarian tacos and sandwiches with a twist, flavorful home-made juices and delicious as well as guilt-and gluten-free sweet treats.
🥙I had the taco verde and it was divine. The cacao muffin with amaranth flour and panela as well as a creamy topping was a delight. I could eat another one right now.
🏡Vibe: Cocofam radiates tranquility. It is located on a small side street right in the center of Puerto Escondido. The space is totally open and it feels like you are sitting in a garden.
💵Prices: Low. I paid 60 MXN for two tacos, 35 MXN for the juice and 35 MXN for the desert. Looking at the quality of ingredients, he could charge way more.
🙋♀️customer service. Angel is such a kind and genuine person and you feel that he Carries out his job with passion. I truly enjoyed my lunch there and would recommend it to anyone. I promise you will not get disappointed unless you expect a burger with fries 😆
👩💻 Wifi: Not available.

Read moreThis was one of my favorite meals in Puerto Escondido/Zicatela, and definitely the most healthy one.
I craved spinach, so I ordered a Taco verde (comes in a pair, with an avocado sauce and a small lentil sauce/dip on the side), and an Ensalada roja (also served with a lentil sauce/soup).
The food looked fresh, colors vibrant, and the taste very flavorful. I found the combination of ingredients familiar, yet surprising. If you want to have a break from fried veggies, this is your place to go!
We also had a refreshing Brisa Zicatela drink, which came in a big clay jug. You have an option to have your dink un/sweetened and on ice/without ice.
All and all an absolutely great value. I’m already planing to go back before I leave Puerto Escondido, to try other drinks and dishes on the menu.
I highly recommend this friendly, family run place....
Read moreNot sure how I can sum this experience up. I've eaten at many places around the world and today's experience was special! I just broke any day fats and was seeking vegetarian food in Puerto Escondido. This place came up so I gave it a shot. A humble restaurant with food that not only rivals more posh places but exceeds in many ways. I ordered a cacao, cinnamon, rice drink (chilate) with light honey on the side, taco Rosa (mushroom with molito and pineapple), and a mushroom soup. The portions were perfect, the colors were vibrant and I feel like the food nourished me! The owner had a deep knowledge of the history of all the food they served and their loved showed in the presentation and taste....down to the ceramic dinner ware that felt ceremonious. They can easily charge more for these dishes what a gem! Can't wait to get the rest...
