Worst Customer Service in my life!! First off, I waited about an hour to order because there was a very big line which was honestly expected with her popularity. Once I was about to order she started offering other people behind my group to serve them before me because they wanted to eat standing. Everyone before me had waited their turn, should I have know you can cut the line and ask to eat them standing I wouldn’t have waited an hour!! Then, once I placed my order the woman taking the orders was super RUDE, she kept rolling her eyes and acting like I didn’t know what I was ordering. Just in case she doesn’t know, many of us visiting them have never been here before and we’re not familiar with the menu or how they “like” you to order. What ever happened to being patient and kind to travels coming across the world to try you food. Once we were seated and finished our first sets of memelas which honestly were really good, my group ordered a few more just like everyone else before us. Again the girl seemed extremely annoyed and at one point started to completely ignore us. She would turn her back and pretend to not hear us, roll her eyes, forget we asked for an extra egg, extra meat, extra memelas…Then we order a piece of pork rib and she literally pulled it out of a cold pot and put it on my moms plate. When my mom tried it it was super cold. Everyone else before us, she would get it out of that pot and put it on her pan to heat it up, then serve it to the customer. This goes to show how annoyed she was. Since the additional orders we asked her were being served extremely slow and at random times some of us finished sooner then others, Doña Vale’s daughter rudely asked my group to get up and let others sit because there were more people in line. Let me remind you that at one point I also waited an hour very patiently to be seated and everyone before my group took their sweet time to eat while my group waited in the hot hallways of the market. When they asked us to get up, My group replied that some of us were not done and Doña Vale also came and said that we were ordering too many items while sitting, that we should have ordered at the beginning and that we had to get up and give our seat to someone else. First off, NOwhere does it say you have a time limit, Nor that once seated you cannot order more or that You MUST not order nothing once the initial order is placed. The daughter said they had a 20 memela order from some customer and that they were overwhelmed so we needed to hurry. I mean if you can’t handle big orders then put a limit, or a sign, or hey put a sign that explains you have an order limit & a time limit. Their customer service is the worst, never in my life have I been asked to leave because my family didn’t order at the beginning and all at one time. Their treatment was humiliating because there was tons of other customers there, all 3 of the people who work there, including Doña Vale were unprofessional, rude & disrespectful. I noticed that she would treat the Americans (Blonde & Blue eyes) really really nice, everyone else she could careless about. It’s obvious her popularity has got to their head. We paid every single item we ordered and should be treated with respect. Doña Vale and her 2 helpers have Zero customer service skills. Not worth the travel to get treated disrespectfully. I read on here other similar comments that people say they were treated the same, wish I had know that. Very very disappointed. Didn’t even finish my food because she asked us to get up and give our...

The memelas may look simple, but the taste is so complex. So many deep flavors. The perfect balance of fat, salt, acid, and spice. We walked 45 minutes from our hotel every morning we were in Oaxaca for these memelas. They are absolutely worth the "hype". I recommend trying both salsas, but the original chipotle sauce is phenomenal. The addition of an egg is great and the fried meat was unbelievable. But just having a memela with no egg or meat was a culinary experience in of itself.

I'm disheartened to see those complaining about service. The ladies working here were kind and patient with my broken Spanish. Service was very quick as soon as we sat down. One of the ladies even saved my phone from being stolen by someone at the market. Come here with the understanding that this is a food stall, not a Michelin star restaurant, and don't be so "star struck" , and you won't be disappointed with the...

This review is based purely on the hostile behavior of the older woman (owner) when I visited with my family. We were pointed towards a line when we arrived with the group infront of us getting their food and leaving. After we ordered the older woman working complained loudly while we ate that we didn’t order “enough” food for our group size (3 memelas for 5). This continued throughout us eating while she stared at my mother in law intensely. Eventually she left and told the other person she was so mad so couldn’t stand staying there. Really weird experience and at no time we were told there was a minimum order per person. She mentioned she had to send people away for us as well but every group we saw ahead of us got their orders. Super weird experience and something you should never do as a business owner to make your guests feel so uncomfortable. Don’t go here and support such a...

Doña Vale is an absolute Oaxacan street-food treasure! Their memeles are nothing short of phenomenal, each bite delivers rich, earthy flavor with just the right balance of masa, queso, and savory toppings. These traditional Oaxacan treats are elevated to perfection, with house-made dough that’s light yet satisfying and toppings that pop with freshness and authenticity. The setup channels street-food energy with warmth and authenticity, and the team is friendly, welcoming, and passionate about sharing Oaxaca’s culinary heritage. Whether you go for the classic memel with beans and cheese, or try one of their creative specials, each one is crafted with care and bursting with flavor. For a genuine, unforgettable taste of Oaxacan street cuisine, memelas done right! Doña Vale Netflix Street Food is a must-stop. Exceptional quality and flavor in every bite!

My girlfriend and I came here because of the Netflix episode obviously- but my god, that was a delicious experience. I ordered 2, then 2 more, then 2 more, then before leaving I had to get one more. That salsa is the best salsa I've ever had, and my girlfriend said the coffee was the best she's ever had. I tried all the carnes they had, the fried pork was the best, and we also each put an egg on a few of them. I couldn't recommend this place any higher. It was hard to find but Google maps was pretty accurate. If you need to ask someone where it is, it's right near some Sanitarios Públicos that were pink, so that might help. I'm honestly sad I will likely not be able to return, and envious of all the Oaxaqueños who live here and get to visit her whenever they wish.
