Best mezcaleria in Oaxaca. I’ve been going there for years every time I come to Oaxaca. Even though they have now become quite big and popular internationally and in michelin stars restaurants, they still keep their essence and fair prices. This last time we were welcomed by Iram, who is passionated by his job and the world of Mezcal. We did an almost full tasting, we went there to buy some bottles and ended up discovering way more varieties and the special editions they have this year. He explained to us through photos and videos the making process of some of the bottles they sell. It is definitely the place to go if you already love mezcal or if you want to learn and...

During my time in Oaxaca this is the mezcaleria that people kept recommending, so on my last day I finally strolled to the south side and had a phenomenal experience here. The bartender graciously and generously walked me through the entire process of producing mezcal. In addition to a map of the region, he took out his phone to pull up photos as visual aids! I tried a flight of three mezcales that were incredibly varied and unique. This is the place to be if you want to learn about mezcal in a relaxed environment with zero pretension. Highly...

Wonderful mezcal tasting bar. The bartender was extremely knowledgable about all the different agave species used to make the mezcals, he was very friendly and explained every part of our 6 mezcal tasting. The bartender spoke english btw. The mezcals themselves were all excellent as well. It's a nice place, not expensive, and a great place to learn about mezcal.

Not a place to taste different brands, as this is a coop like place that is only one "brand" but with a few different sources and different...

The first time I stopped by around 8pm when Google said it would be open but it wasn’t. The area feels a little sketchy at night because it’s far out of the way and not many people were out. That all said, I went back another day in the afternoon and was treated to a nice tasting. The woman working there was very friendly and was able to explain a lot of things to me in English. Not quite as in depth and customized as Mezcaloteca but I strongly recommend coming here as a follow up. The space is very cool as well!

Visited twice during my trip to Oaxaca. Nice variety of quality mezcals, was able to taste several before purchasing bottles to take home. Roberto was an excellent source of information and taught me much about the plants used in production, the processes and equipment involved, and the history of mezcal. Very friendly staff, chill environment and a great place to get away from the tourists and drink mezcal with locals.

It is a very nice Mezcal bar close to the biggest market in Oaxaca. Many locals go their. The tasting costs 200 for three different Mexican mezcals. The barkeeper was very friendly though also quite busy and hadn't had the time for us to explain more background info. I'd tevoto go, but if possible during calmer times to get most out of the experience.
