Danny’s Terrace (accommodations) As we pulled up to Danny's Terrace in the taxi, I felt assured as the driver gave us a thumbs up, acknowledging our excellent choice of for our stay. Danny was there to welcome us and escort us up the wide, blue, gated staircase to our new 10 day home. Our spacious rooms were strategically positioned between the bustling touristy street and the serene beach shores, offering us the perfect balance of convenience and tranquility. (Some nights disco music can be heard in the distance) Before booking we had discussed what the accommodations had to offer and we were assured the lack of hot water wouldn’t be a problem. I smiled in disbelief but was willing to endure it since the cold air conditioning, strong internet connection and english options tv were more important to us. However to our surprise we were ok with the tepid showers after days it the sun. Morning Coffee with smiling servers, from Danny’s Terrace restaurant downstairs and moderately priced meals when we didn’t feel like investing outside our immediate vicinity, despite the shore line dotted with other scrumptious restaurant, made our stay truly enjoyable. Black out blinds on the big windows that overlook the private patio were great including ceiling fans. Simple accommodations but everything works. We were unsure about our stay based on the airbrake noise mentioned in another review however after investigations we became aware it was more the diesel travel buses, but it didn’t bother us as they seemed far away, the noise of the crashing waves was...

We stopped in just after morning rush at 11am to have breakfast before we had to check out of our hotel. The restaraunt was about 2/3rds full at that point but several large tables were all leaving. It was a mix of locals and older expat types. They had 3 people in the kitchen, one main host and another server but all we're working rather casually. By the time we sat down the restaraunt wasn't even that busy but the waitress told me the waffles would take a long time, so I ordered something else instead. After an hour of slowly drinking cold coffee, we asked if it would be much longer because we had to check out of our hotel soon... after asking a second time we found out there was 2 other tables they had to cook before even getting to ours and those people had been sitting there when we first walked in! We were very polite the whole time and speak fluent Spanish, but after not getting the waitress attention again we finally told the cooks directly to cancel our orders. We left money for the coffee on the table and left with no food in sight. I'm convinced it would have taken a full 2 hrs before we got...
Read moreFood was good. It came with salad and the salad leaves were black. Luckily the meat was ok. The service was veeery slow. There was only 1 mesero for the entire place but there was only 1 other table (with 2 people) occupied. We asked to get the starter first. We were 2 adults and 2 kids and the kids were hungry. But we had to wait almost 1 hour to get the starter and the main course at the same time…1 hour of only drinks and no chips. All the other restaurants offer chips with salsa while you wait. This place only offered the chips with salsa only when the food came. Which was, of course, too late and useless and we didn’t eat it. Plus the ambulantes…3 beggars came to our table + 1 person selling nuts + 2 people playing an instrument. So 6 people in 1,5 hours while we were there. So 1 disruption every 15 minutes. Not...
