We didn't eat in the restaurant but rather stayed in the accommodation on the second floor above the restaurant. The location is great and the price was right...however, the water shuts off almost every night and thus one cannot flush the toilet or wash their hands. The internet was shoddy constantly kicking us off for hours at a time. There were cockroaches in our bathroom but it is an open air hotel and windows to the bathroom and we were in a hot country so to some extent I could accept this would be possible. They did spray the drain with some poison and we bought cockroach spray of our own to fend them off. Most frustrating was that we found bedbugs in our bed. I brought this to the owner's attention and she denied they were bedbugs. I have, unfortunately, through my previous employment had the opportunity to see bedbugs in the past and I know what they are and look like. There were bedbugs in our bed. I asked for a different room and almost had to beg and plead with the owner to get one. She eventually sighed and begrudgingly agreed. In reality, she should have been apologetic and accommodating. A day or two after the move, I asked her for directions to the public bus stop. She indicated the location but when I asked, to make sure, the names of the cross streets she said "Oh I don't know what they are"....I soon thereafter found the bus stop was only two blocks away from her hotel/restaurant and on a principal road in the town...I can't fathom how she wouldn't have known the name of it. Her tone and unhelpfulness led me to believe that she was intentionally being unhelpful, but who is to say for sure. Nevertheless, I wouldn't...

Read moreFood wasn’t bad, not great. There are better options in Crucecita with better pricing.
But more importantly their little routine with the taxis is totally obvious. We had just arrived in crucecita and asked our taxi driver for a good seafood recommendation. Naturally he brought us here. Our food was fine...we had much better during the rest of our trip.
But get this: every 10 or 15 minutes like clockwork, a new carload of tourists would get dropped off by another taxi to come here. Their taxi scheme was painfully obvious, nice little racket they’ve got going on. If you ask the server he’ll say “all the taxis and hotels say we have the best food.”
Uh huh. Dude I’m from Vegas. I can smell a kickback scheme a mile away. We do the exact same thing but with...
