Super overhyped. The smoked fish was shredded which really makes me doubt its overall quality. The smokey flavor of the fish itself was actually quite nice, but the taco was doused in random ingredients that did nothing to enhance the flavor and actually did a great job of covering up the smoky flavor--but I guess the yogurt dressing was necessary because the fish/taco was otherwise quite dry. Cold tortillas. Salsas were very bland. The tortilla chips were absolutely disgusting---there were literally puddles of oil on them. For an insane $45 pesos, these should be tacos that absolutely blow your mind. A good price for fish tacos in the area seems to be about $20 pesos (haven't found cheaper yet, but I'm looking!) and you get more food that tastes better. I'm giving this place one "extra" star because it's not BAD food, but for $45 pesos they're out of...
Read moreRecommended to us by a local. The stand out dish was the ceviche, perfect in every way and generous serving. Unfortunately the smoked fish tacos were just ok, the flavour of the fish (nice smoke, mild not oily) was lost in the taco. Wine (white) was good and served cold, cocktails ok but light on the spirits and lacking a kick, couldnt taste any rum in the mojito. Overall very good value for the area. Just felt a bit too westernised, and we've eaten more authentic seafood a few doors down. Service was good, but the 2 for 1 drinks was limited to only 3 cocktails which we were made aware of after ordering when we asked. For three people we were well fed with drinks for just under 800 pesos. Worth a visit for the ceviche, but go elsewhere for authentic oaxoacan seafood that is more traditional, or mexico city for your tacos. Oh, cash only, so...
Read moreI was as negatively surprised by the quality of this food as I was positively by the Dorado club. The smoked fish in the smoked fish tacos i had, wasn't..errm...very smoky, Kind of bland and dry, and doused with just yoghurt. The tortillas were, almost unbelievably, long-life tortillas from a packet - Seriously? They always seem very busy, I think due to being in LP, and were a bit overwhelmed. It wasn't terrible, the staff were kind, but I'm not rushing to go back either. My tip - I have no affiliation, but for the same price at Dorado club nearby you'll receive something that's more a work of art instead of this fairly average fare. It's fairly new so doesn't seem to have caught on yet. Trust me - you'll...
