I hate to give bad reviews but this was really awful. We had high hopes based on previous reviews so I want to warn potential sushi seekers. Go elsewhere!
We came in as a group of 6, ordered and had to repeat the order a few times before everything was put on the tablet. Literally half of the things hadn’t been taken down on the tablet the first time and still was missing items on the second try. Finally the order was fully taken and we waited for the food. The food: The mango roll barely had any mango, a sliver on the top, and definitely did not taste like it. When we asked the server about it, he said that he wasn’t sure if there was any mango in the mango roll and that it was the way it was. Then when we asked him why it was called mango roll if there was no mango in it, he said that the thing they put on top is orange like the color of mango. Weird. No attempt to make it right. The mi sushi roll had a decent flavor but the rice was hard and stale in spots. The Fuego roll was supposed to have salmon inside but the amount was laughable and it basically tasted like rice with a slice of cucumber on top and chili sprinkled over. The miso soup was not bad. The salmon roll and the dragon roll were decent, although the dragon roll had the same issue of the rice being stale. 2 of the 6 people never got their food, which were spicy salmon poke bowls. No explanation, no excuses. We ended up paying 1200 pesos for crappy sushi and bad service and 2 out of the 6 had to get dinner elsewhere afterwards. We surely won’t...
Read moreFOOD: wide selection of Japanese on their menu including mains like Yakimeshi, Teppayaki, Katsu etc But don’t be fooled by the Japanese sounding name and menu items, this place is definitely Mexican /Japanese fusion (even if they didn’t intend it to be lol)
There’s a delicious creamy chipotle sauce on the table next to soy sauce and a thick teriyaki sauce. The food comes with pickled jalapeños and the chipotle haha, instead of your usual Ginger and wasabi. But you can ask for it bc they have it!
PRICE: They have deals pretty much every weekday! Friday’s are 2 for 1 tempura rolls - at 100 pesos per roll that comes out to be ~$2.50 per roll.
AMBIANCE: They have plenty of booths and Bette located in the mall so there’s central AC. But they have fans circulating the air in the restaurant too. They also have tables outside so you can people watch haha
Interesting: This place plays a lot of Latin music which is awesome haha you get to eat affordable sushi and jam out to Juan...
Read moreThe service and quality of food has significantly declined over the last year I used to love this place and previously had given them a 5 star review. I would even order take out. (I stopped ordering take out after their staff was rude to my wife on Whatsapp. I should have also taken this as a sign of serious trouble.) Today, we went in and ordered our usual of 3 sushi rolls with the prepared edamame as an appetizer. The sushi rolls came out well before the edamame and they were passable. The edamame came out raw and under seasoned. We sent it back and all they did was microwave it. It came back depressed-looking and, for the first time in my life, I refused to pay for something that I ordered at a restaurant. The waitress had a bad attitude and only gave us one napkin. In short, DO...
